Redweek disappearing ads

Feb 10, 2009

I am a long time redweek member. For the most part, I was very happy with all dealings with Redweek until.......I went to check my 2 advs for timeshare rentals the other day and found they had disappeared. I noted that all ads prior to that same current day had disappeared. Now both timeshares float. I posted as Jan 1 to Dec 31. When I e mailed customer service the response was "our program is set up for fixed weeks." My response - you mean to tell me you expect a member to edit their timeshare ad every single day in order to keep it current. Response - yes. Me - I find this absolutely absurd. Basically - sorry but that's how it is. And that is how I discovered I paid for several weeks of rental ads that weren't on the rental list. Better check it out. And if your ad is before today's date - edit it. I did not know where else or to whom to write besides customer service. I think this is BS.

unfortunately....i can explain it.....

i have three very simple major principles of life....each is 3 words..... the answer to your misfortune is my number 2 theory.....here they are... they apply everywhere.....every day.......

1. nothing. . . is easy 2. they're all crooks 3. change. . . is constant

Hi Patricia,

I'm not sure why your ads disappeared. Your weeks are floating weeks and yes we do allow for floating weeks. Your ads were set up correctly. I have reactivated your postings. Please be sure to check all of them in "Your Account" in case I reactivated some that you have already rented out. If you look at the rentals for Polo Towers you will see that the beginning date for floating weeks update every day to reflect that new beginning date. You don't need to do this, it's automatic. I'm wondering if the customer service person thought your dates were fixed which meant that the available dates had already passed which and in that case yes the posting would automatically deactivate but since your posting was set up as a floating week through December 31 it shouldn't deactivate unless you rent it or your posting expires after the six months passes without renewing it.

We apologize for any misunderstanding and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks, Marty
