Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Looking for a timeshare in Sarasota FL to buy

Aug 16, 2009

I own a 1 week timeshare and would like to buy a second, without going through a real estate broker. The people who run the rentals at my building have told me for 6 months that there is nothing for sale, but that cannot be right. Are there websites that I can go to in order to find specific timeshares available at this particular resort? If so, can you please give me the names of these sites. Thank you, Joy

Have you checked what's available on RedWeek?

Thanks, Marty

First, you likely know already that there certainly is not an overabundance of timeshare facilities in and around Sarasota to begin with, so it's no surprise that perhaps you find relatively few weeks for sale in that area. The (fewer than six in total, if I'm not mistaken) facilities on Longboat Key, for example, are all very popular, always in high demand for either purchase or exchange, with relatively low turnover (and comparatively high selling prices, when available for sale at all).

Second, some facilities conduct their resales through an agent on site for owners (..perhaps yours is one of them?), so it's sometimes not easy to find ads for these facilities advertised on Internet sites "direct-by-owner".

That all said however, there are certainly numerous Internet sites where you can easily search the listings by specific geographic areas. RedWeek, MyResortNetwork, Vacation Timeshare Rentals, and Timeshare Users Group, all come immediately to mind.

Hope this helps you.
