They don't --- plain and simple. For that matter, they may or may not even know what specific timeshare you own. Remember that many timeshares cannot even be GIVEN away these days. With that fact in mind, why would you believe that someone would magically appear out of the blue, completely unsolicited, with a remarkable interest in buying YOUR timeshare???

What they likely DO have, on the other hand, is an interest in appealing to your profit motive by waving a big (but completely fabricated) purchase figure at you. All it will take for you to "proceed" with this "sale" is to pay them a "title search fee" or some other such invented charge. Once they have your money firmly in hand, the non-existent "buyer" will then somehow promptly disappear --- right along with your money.

PLEASE don't fall for this crap. It's pure nonsense.

If they charge an upfront fee then they are a scam operation. They'll tell you they have a buyer then when you give them your credit card # for the upfront fee, they'll say later that the buyer backed out or couldn't get financing or some other lie, but they got what they wanted in the first, your upfront fee.

You say you, "sold your timeshare to one of this company's clients, yet they are not a timeshare resale company" ... then you go on to say, "they (whoever they are) bought my timeshare in Orlando a year ago" .... sorry, this doesn't make sense.

Vacation Buyers contacted me and said the title search fee and processing fee is reimbursable if the deal does not go threw, also they have the earnest money from the buyer, so the sell will go through or I will get my $273 back. Anyone know if this is true?

I do not understand why a legitimate company would charge you a fee upfront.

Thank you

Upfront fee parasites come in many different names and flavors, with a wide variety of stories, pitches, razzamatazz and assorted songs and dances. NONE, however, are in business to issue "refunds".

People are absolutely free to evaluate the input and advice of others for themselves and make their own decisions. My clear input and advice to you is that if you voluntarily provide ANY upfront fee company with ANY money, you can simply color that money GONE --- period, amen. Kiss that money goodbye forever, plain and simple.

It is your prerogative to believe semi-literate posted stories and claims, but if you do so it is by voluntarily choice --- and at your own financial peril. In my own several DECADES of multiple timeshare ownerships and extensive timeshare experience, I have never even HEARD the name "Vacation Buyers" before; I'd strongly recommend taking their song and dance routine with a large grain of salt...

I would like to know some more about this company. They have contacted me and offered a sale. Now I have to send money for taxes, title search and wire transfer fees. Since you have dealt with them where can I get more info about them or can you tell me more

If they ask for money upfront, then they're scams, period ... they'll tell you they have a buyer then after you've given them the upfront fee they'll claim the buyer backed out or couldn't get financing BUT they keep your upfront fee.

Tell them you'll pay their fee out of the proceeds at closing then see how fast they hang up on you ... try it the next time they call.

Well the guy called back last night wanting to find out why I hadn't sent the funds. In the meantime I went to this site and saw the postings. My wife got the call and asked him about this site and the postings about his company. he said he wanted the web address and he would check it out and get back with an answer and explain the discrepancy. he has not called back since 5:30 yesterday. Enough said.

Did you try telling him that you won't do business with him unless he takes his fee from the proceeds at closing?
