There is a website named Whois.net. This website gives the date at which a domain name was set up on the web. If you can't find any info from the better business bureau and don't see any complaints about a company that tells you they can sell your timeshare, look up when they started thier internet site. Less than a year is a big scam... especially when thier web site says they have been in business for 10 years. There are so many companies scamming people and then changing names it is pitiful.
By the way, not only is resale a scam but I think the initial ownership is a scam too. The maintenance fees are not set to the fair market. You are obligated to pay whatever they charge and they make enough from the fees that they don't ever want the unit back. At least when you purchase a lawn mower, car or anything else, there is a market to resell or you can send it to the junk yard. I can't send my week to the junk yard and I don't want it and the original sellers knew that there is not a resale market. Either the fees need to come down or the developers need to be forced to create an avenue to send the week to the junk yard. Any lawyers out there want to take up a class action suit and be the first to crack this unjust industry?
