So I'm in a rut now. I thought that buying RCI points would be a good investment. I thought that I would be able to rent out my points while in school to help pay the cost of it, but I'm not having any luck renting out my points. Any suggestions? I have just been posting on Craig's List and got a membership here but haven't created an ad, because I don't wanna dish out another $25 for an ad that might never sell. What is the statistics of actually renting out a timeshare? And I'm not sure of good locations? I'm starting to get really anxious and just wanna get rid of my points now. I'm thinking of selling it too. I have 21,000 points that rake up annually, plus another 10,000 this year. No idea what to do?!? Lost my job and going to graduate school. FML.

I'm not that knowledgable concerning RCI points but could you not use those points to reserve weeks at very popular resorts/locations such as high demand oceanfront resorts in summer, high demand ski locations in winter or resorts with high demand holiday weeks and rent those weeks after you reserve them?

I would never buy points or a timeshare as a financial investment.
