Question on week (season)

Jul 12, 2011

I am looking to buy a Marriot property...what is the difference between a 'week 38 (high)' and a floating (high)? Am I limited to when I can use the week 38 unit vs. the floating unit which I assume is anytime during the 'high' season???

A week 38 high would be a fixed week .... a floating high would be weeks during high season (whatever high season is at the Marriott you own). If you buy a fixed week you are required to use that week unless you desposit it with an exchange company choosing another week in exchange.

If you choose a floating week 38 you can choose whatever week is within the high season IF it is available. With floating high weeks I would make my reservations 9-12 months in advance to be sure you get the week you want because high season weeks are highly sought, especially the closer you get to that season.
