Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

exclusive corporate marketing

Feb 20, 2010

I was contacted by Exclusive Corporate Marketing (ecorporatemarketing.com) to see if I wanted to sell my timeshare. They want several hundred dollars up front. I'm not finding anything at all in my online searches except their website. Anyone had any dealings with them or heard anything at all?

If they ask for an upfront fee in the hundreds/thousands of dollar then they're a scam.

I also have been contacted to sell my points and they have been quite persistent. When I said that I was not prepared to send the money upfront but suggested they take it out of the backend of the sale they told me that in America that is how deals are done. I told them it sounded like a scam and would do some checking and they hung up on me.

thousands of dollars = scam? Thats weird, I just bought a new car that cost me thousands of dollars, did I get scammed?! The salesman was persistent to! Stupid, expensive things are just expensive. And employees are trying to move a product. Have you ever known how much a radio ad costs, or a banner on a website...it can cost thousands of dollars! Scam is when someone takes your money, sends you no contract, has no customer service, when you call the number its disconnected, and when you go to their address no one is there.

And that's exactly what upfront fee resale companies do .... once they get your money, they either don't answer the phone or put you on voice mail (and never return calls) or the associate that was handling your case is no longer there. They tell you that they have a buyer when that's an out and out lie .... now if you don't consider this a scam then I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you real cheap.

If you think new car prices are a scam then why didn't you buy a used car .... you're comparing apples to oranges here .... no one forced you to buy that new car or told you outright lies.

BTW, your new car depreciated thousands of dollars the day you drove it off the car lot ..... that's a given.

Absoluety a scam, call us stupid but my husband and I actually fell for it!! They contacted us if we wanted to sell our points and we did pay up a couple of hundreds for their service. After that we didn't hear from them nor could we contact them via phone as their numbers were disconnected. We hadn't heard from them until we disputed with our bank to get our money back.

Don't make the mistake we did, it's a total scam!!

In my nearly 30 years of timeshare ownership, experience and industry observation, I can honestly say that WITHOUT EXCEPTION each and EVERY timeshare related entity with the word "marketing" in its' name is a useless, upfront fee listing parasite. These outfits exist for NO other reason than to take your willingly given money ---- NOT to sell your (...or any other) timeshare.

There are no "victims" in these matters, only willing volunteers unfortunately making bad decisions. So.....DON'T VOLUNTEER!

Beware. Exclusive equity marketing is owner by johnny bryant. Johnny bryant moved from altamonte Florida because his company of eight years was shut down because he scammed people out of millions. Check out all of the scam reports on resort equity marketing in altamonte Florida. He is a he moved to Texas and has now started the same timesheet resale scam known as exclusive equity marketing. Please check out both companies on the bbb website. It will show you his name, hundreds of complaints and an f rating. Very bad news. Take it from me. I worked there for a month and quit when I found out the sad truth.

I'm not sure who you guys signed up with. I've had an account with exclusive corporate for a while now, and am completely satisfied. I had some issues at first since I had to renew my account twice before getting anything. But I actually got a couple to rent my timeshare for a decent amount, and since they loved my place and the price I gave them, they rented from me again! I made back my marketing fee in two rentals, and got to keep an extra $500 for myself. The contract from Exclusive does say that I have to let them know if I need to continue marketing since I would be the only one receiving offers directly. I was given a lot of information over the phone that was a little confusing, but most of that was on their site and in an email they sent me with all the terms and conditions. I went for it, and I made a profit. I could only suggest that you be careful with who you talk to and research what your getting into. I've had other companies call me since then, and they wanted more money, and their "sales pitch" sounded too good to be true. Those are the people you don't deal with, but Exclusive definitely worked for me.

Ok... I too was contacted by ECM. at first I was completely determined it was a scam as well. It took what felt like forever to even receive a call back from them. I had just forked over $800 to them to rent out my property. I called their customer service team and they explained to me the "ins" and "outs" of timeshare renting and made me feel a whole lot better about the program. Sure enough, quite some time later mind you, I received a call. An Army guy and his family wanted to take a last minute trip so I accepted the offer. Granted the rental price was a smaller total then I was expecting. I still got my money back and they are continuing to market my time. Seems like im gonna keep making more money with the right company.

exclusive corporate marketing rented out my timeshare. It took time, To say the least, but now I have a steady renter. He also rents out some of my extra RCI points when I have them banked up. Its cash in my pocket and a dream get away for him.

I rented from this company. A luxury suite in Hawaii at a great price. Exclusive corporate marketing worked for me.

I used them in the past. My property was sold, not rented and I made a good amount from it. I was never a timeshare person but my husband talked me into it. After he became my ex-husband is when I realized I never wanted the property anyways and he refused to pay the yearly fees for it. So it was almost a blessing when ECM called because after such a disgusting settlement with my ex I could never afford the yearly fees. Instead it sold and at just the right time when I needed the money the most. Thanks ECM!

I always have doubts when several people (all of a sudden) post accolades/praises about a company that I've never even heard of after 11 years of timeshare education .... it states on ECM's website:

"The benefits of advertising your property for sale/ for rent by owner include no commissions, no broker fees, no closing cost, and no additional cost to you at the time of sale / rental".

Nah, they just charge you a large upfront fee of several hundreds or thousands of dollars (see previous posts) to enter your timeshare in a database that no one will ever see .... it's a scam .... all they want is that upfront fee.

You said it right there, you've never heard of the company. Years of "timeshare education" means nothing when times have changed and industries make improvements. There's no proof either way that a company is good or not from a forum of people who aren't even a customer of the company they are bashing. Its all hearsay.

Forums can be unproductive, and here the person originally asking about exclusive corporate never got an answer. Just people who've had bad experiences with other companies who asked for an upfront fee. That may not mean it's a scam.

Well I looked up this exclusive and its a currently active business thats been around since 2009. There s probably not enough reputation to make an opinion, but with any business there are specific laws to follow and it cannot stay in business if it's scamming people. I've looked at tons of forums not related to timeshares that show when people are just unhappy, they start yelling scam! I can look more into this business, I would hate for someone to bash my business without some hard facts....let me know.

I had a vacation property I bought in Colorado, I thought maybe the family and I would like to pick up skiing. Well worst mistake of my life. They ended up hating the snow. ECM rented it out until I decided to sell it a while back. I valued their services. Thanks for everything guys!
