Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Warning - James Buffaloe

Do not rent from James Buffaloe. I had contracted with him to rent his unit at Westgate Town Center. The payment was processed on July 18 and to date I have not received a confirmation. All attempts to reach him have gone unanswered. Looks like I am just out my money. This is my 10th time to rent from an owner on Redweek and I've never had a problem like this.

did you pay with credit card, or paypal type payments.. you might have recourse.. also be sure to let Redweek know of this problem as well.. They may ban him is there are others that have been screwed.

No, I paid with a money order.....have always done so in the past with money order or certified check......learned a hard lesson, never had a problem in the past though.

I don't know that there is anything I can do, looking into it, if anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I have contacted Redweek. His posting is still showing available under the Westgate Town Center rentals.

I have contacted Redweek. His posting is still showing available under the Westgate Town Center rentals.

You need to continue contacting Redweek until this issue is resolved.

Cristy, I wasn't able to find any tickets into customer service that you have contacted us about this but I have sent an email to James asking him what's going on with your reservation. Please read through this page on how to protect yourself from fraud: http://www.redweek.com/resources/stay-safe. Using a vacation rental escrow company is the best way to protect yourself. I'll let you know if I hear back from James.

Thank you for contacting RedWeek.com and bringing this to our attention. While Mr. Buffaloe did not provide a phone number when he created his RedWeek account, I would be happy to e-mail him on your behalf to see if I can elicit a response.

Please let me know if you hear from this owner, and I will do the same.

Unfortunately, I never heard back from the "owner". His RedWeek account has been deactivated.
