Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Timeshare hotlist and Westgate

Feb 09, 2011

I see where several people have talked to THL and been told about the $1259 fee. Here is a twist that they told me. Mine is a Westgate resort ts and they said that if they don't sell it in 6 months, i get the $1259 back. They say this is a contract in writing. Anyone else here of this?

Let me say this again. Never, ever pay anyone a large upfront fee to sell, rent out, or market your timeshare. Period. Forget about any guarantees as they are not worth the paper they're written on.

These upfront fee scammers always say that there's a money-back guarantee but then the fine print shows so many exceptions to that, that it's not worth it.

As for the $1259 fee, how does that compare to the resale value of your timeshare? Most timeshares are not even worth that amount and I'm guessing Westgate falls into that category (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about that).

Believe me, if you pay them any money, you will never see it again and you will get next to nothing in return.

You have been warned!
