Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

marriott or starwood timeshare? What is better to buy?

May 19, 2013

I want to buy a resale timeshare. My husband is a pilot and we are looking to travel in Europe and want to be able to stay in the big cities. RCI doesn't have much in the main cities. So, we want to be in a system that will let us be impromptu in our travels and not have to put in a year in advance for places in Europe. What do you suggest for the best resale to buy?

Does your husband's airline offer discounts with hotels? Most do, I believe. If so, that may be a better way for you to go.

Timeshare ownership is not for impromptu reservations and/or instant exchanges .... you'd be better off to do what the above poster suggested. One other suggestion is to rent from timeshare owners in the cities you will be visiting.

Neither system has any TS resorts in urban locations in Europe.
