Selling Through Redweek Full Service

Jul 03, 2013

I have a 1 bedroom, oceanview suite in Virginia beach that I have listed for sale for almost 1 year. I am thinking of trying Redweek Full Service but was not sure if that will be helpful. Has anyone been successful with this? Thanks.

Are you pricing the sale of it realistically? Some owners who want to sell set their prices unrealistically high.

Have you checked out what similar units are selling (not listing) for on E-bay. Look at E-Bay's completed auctions to find out what these units are selling for on the resale market.

As for RedWeek's Full Service, it legit but they charge a commission that will likely exceed what you can sell it for. By the way, where have you listed it for sale? If it's just one website, try multiple websites.

And, of course, never ever pay anyone a large, upfront fee to sell, rent out, market, or "cancel" your timeshare.

Off season mid atlantic beach weeks are a really hard sell. Using a full service option isn't going to change that. Add to the fact that the one bed room units have almost the same MF's as the 2 br units and off season weeks can be rented for less on II. I suggest you drop your price to $500 and if it still doesn't sell or you don't get many inquiries you might need to just give it away if you don't want it anymore. I agree that you should also list at 2-3 additional low cost or free listing sites.

It also doesn't hurt to ask the resort if they take deed backs, especially if you have any extenuating hardship issues.

Who do you get to handle the transactions that you can trust, if you dont use redweek full service? Dav77

Without the full service option, you would write your own ad and answer you own inquiries. If you find someone who wants to buy you could contact an independent closing company to do the transfer. The full service option does not include the cost of transfer or closing but helps coordinate the communication.

I considered the option but it seems like they really don't do that much for the extra $440 or so that it cost.

Lance13,

Thanks for the response. I only have it listed on Redweek.com but you are correct I need to post on other forums.
