Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Has anyone received offers from Travel Leisure Executives?

This is a classic approach. They offered us a wonderful price for our Time Share. We weren't even interested in selling it. They said, no up front fees, however then when we became interested enough to explore, we discovered that we needed to pay foreign taxes before the money would leave escrow. Unfortunately, we paid the first bolus (3k) but backed out before they could get any more. I can provide more information if you need it. So, we lost some money, but lesson learned!! Now we want to pass on the warning.

It was a scam from the very beginning. You will not be able to recover your loss but NEVER pay anyone money upfront to sell or rent your timeshare.

We know that now and want to warn others! Thanks!

An update.... They are now accusing us of breach of contract for which they will extract a penalty equal to the first Mexican tax. They will reduce the penalty by 50% if we reinstate the contract and pay the second Mexican tax. Lose-lose. This clearly is a real time scam. We have contacted the California Attorney General, but won't hold our breath. Likely they aren't even in California.

This is the new Nigerian lottery scam.

Thanks for the info. We expect more threatening emails, but likely they will stop once they realize that we aren't going to pay any more.
