What you are missing is the likelihood that there will be an enormous all-inclusive (AI) fee. Sometimes they run as much as $150 per person per day. And those AI fees are mandatory.
That's probably why the owner does not want to go there and is just trying to recoup a smidgeon of his maintenance fees.
Before jumping at this deal, check if there's an AI fee and how much it is per person.

Redweek doesn't give a lot of space to give extra info. Or at least many who advertise don't give a lot of info beyond the required fill in form. I wouldn't assume the person is hiding it, unless you contacted them and they didn't address it.
Many Caribbean AI's don't have MF unless you use. They also give the owners referral credits for getting friends and family to use a week (and pay the AI). It gets new blood into the resort so the sales office can try to sell. Most of these AI's aren't cheap and you can often find package deals that include airfare that is lower than the AI fee but not always. If you are a member and interested you might want to get a quote and than compare what else you can get elsewhere.

I've never heard of them but never pay anyone an upfront fee to rent out (or sell) your timeshare. If they charge a commission (usually around 15%), their commission would come out of the proceeds of the rental. The renter would pay this third party and then this third party would send you a check.
Be careful if they reverse that and say the "renter" pays you and then you pay this third party its 15% commission because what usually happens is that the check they send you is fake while the money you send them is real. Get the picture?
Also, beware if they told you that they can rent it out for an unusually high amount. Those are usually scams.

I had my Son do the searching for me and so far everything seems pretty legit. They immediately send 1/2 the money to your paypal acct. upon signing with the Renters, then 30 days later the balance. They do charge a commission, but it is directly to the renters, not the owner.
