I was a Starwood owner and extremely happy. Not anymore- since the Marriott buyout. They broke the system.

This sounds like trouble. Large equity firms don't know anything but profit and loss. Owners within HGV will likely suffer.

I would love to see Apollo buy out Hilton. I have a diamond resort time share. Having the option of hundreds of Hilton properties would be great

First I have heard of this. I own timeshares at HGVC. They are in the process of buying the Aria and HardRock in Las Vegas. They are currently building more 3 and 4 bedroom luxury units on top of the Elara.

I am a significant owner at HGVC in California and in Hawaii. I was also an owner at Diamond Resorts. I love HGVC and plan to buy again as soon as Maui Bay Villas goes on the market. My experience at HGVC has always been positive since joining in 2001. I walked away from Diamond Resorts because of the lies and stonewalling that I was subjected to over a clearly fraudulent sale. The sales rep lied to me, so typical of a shoddy timeshare operation. A merger of HGVC and Diamond Resorts brings no benefit to HGVC owners: What's better, a grand deed to the property (HGVC) or a crappy piece of paper that says you have the right to use your points if you pay your fees to Diamond Resorts. Speaking of fees, HGVC fees are significantly less that Diamond Resorts fees, and HGVC has much better properties, 4 star versus 3 star. Trust me, been there and got screwed with Diamond Resorts.
