Timeshare Companies

Omega Marketing Solutions any one had dealings with them?

Those are also excellent ideas, and I plan to contact them, as well. I am going to look into online petitions or webpages to create. I certainly do not plan to let this go. I am going to try to e-mail them one more time, and at the same time I am going to contact the places you suggested. If I do not get the problem fixed through this, I am going to go to 60 minutes with some singatures or 20/20 and expose it. I will be satisfied if I can even just expose them and saving anyone else from getting scammed. And their airline tickets that they give you are such a joke..... Will work more on this, let me know if you have nay more ideas. Jill

Also, you need to send signed petitions to the Attorney General in the state where the upfront scammers operate, so please ask the petition signers to name the scam company and the state where they are located.

Airline tickets? I didn't get any airline tickets. Even if you get in contact with them, still get the petitions for 20/20 and 60 minutes. Let me know and other victims know when you plan this. I'm sure we will all be more than happy to sign it.

When these companies ask for money "up front" to advertise and (hopefully) sell a timeshare, they say when asked that in Florida is is illegal for non-real estate agents to collect a portion of the sale price and therefore they have to recover their costs up front with a flat fee. Can any of you who live in Florida confirm or deny this claim? Is there such a regulation? Perhaps either a lawyer or a real estate agent there could answer this question.

I know that in the past some of the timeshare companies themselves offered a rental program for owners. The ones I know kept 35% of the rental fee. My few attempts to utilize this option did not turn out successfully. Bluegreen has dropped its rental program. Not sure whether it was too much muss and bother or because owners who didn't understand the source of these rental weeks gave them grief. Probably both. MD

And this is how they get away with their scams ... they're not licensed real estate agents. If they were, they couldn't take the upfront fee, which they call an advertising/marketing fee when all they do is place an ad in a database with millions of others who also got scammed. They don't do any real advertising.

I honestly can't understand why all the upfront fee scammers haven't been forced out of business. It's not just the scam upfront fee, it's ALL THE LIES THEY TELL PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS ..... the entire scam needs to be exposed to the world.

TS owners must be the most trust-worthy people in the entire world. First they listen to all the lies by the timeshare salepeople, then they listen to all the lies from the upfront fee companies and PCCs. The funny thing is that these same people would be overly cautious about cold calls and other things of that nature.

That's not true. It is not about being trustworthy, it's about being decent and honest. This is the first time in my life that I have been scammed by a company and I do reget it, but I'm blaming Omega Marketing, not myself. My timeshare is being advertised by companies, such as timeshares only, who advertise on television and I can go online and see my advertisement as proof. This company just happened to have caught me at an emotionally stressful time in my life and they took advantage of that. Yes, I went with it, but I was also leary and aware of some things that just did not sound right. Unfortunately, it was the next day when I decided to research the company and found discrepancies. By the time I called my bank, they had already taken the unauthorized funds from my account. Many people are feeling the financial crunch of the econony with layoffs, bills, and other circumstances. I believe this is why these scammers chose such a time to hit. There is nothing wrong with us, the problem is with them. They are the dishonest, immoral, and unethical lying thieves who deceive people when they are at a low point in their lives and believe me, they will not go unpunished for their evil deeds. Shame on them, and shame on you for blaming the victims for the acts of evildoers. They are professionals at what they do, and they know who to prey on and when. We all have to be careful because of the econony and the way things are going, you never know you may become a victim of a scam such as identity theft, credit card fraud, or even online scams. I just read how these online scammers are getting so professional with online scams that you will not know the difference between them and a real and upstanding online business offer.

You are completely correct with this. Is it not foolish to have done it, because you want to believe that other people are good and honest. I have ocntacted 20/20 and 60 minutes just this evening. I am going to write a one page submission to 20/20, Nightline and Primetime. Please let me know very soon if anyone has anything specific that I need to add to this letter. It can not be over 1 page, however, so try and keep it brief, please. I plan to send this in within the next few days, so please hurry. The latest number I have for Omega is 1-866-380-5163, let me know if anyone has anything different. I will not stop until this is made into a newsstory and others are saved. Everyone have a nice evening, and let me know about the details. Thanks, jill

The number I have for them is 727-230-1920. Jill, also go on a website www.myfoxny.com and write to Arnold Diaz. He's a news guy in on Fox in New York who covers stories like this. I'm going to contact him also. He may get it out their also. Don't forget to put in your letter about the lies they tell people to get them to react faster. I was told that there were already 2 or 3 buyers who had put a down payment for a sale on my timeshare and they were waiting for me to finish paying the fee so that they can go through with it. All lies! After being contacted by the BBB, I received a call from Chris Brooks, he was angry of course. I asked him if their were really any buyers for my timeshare at this moment and he told me NO, "But we are trying really hard to sell your timeshare" is what he said. Whatever!! I just want my money back and for this to be over. I have not yet been able to get back on my feet financially since this happened, but I'm praying and working on it.

It is amazing how persistent these people are until they get your money. I bought a TS in Cancun back in early 2007 and found that to be a bad decision. So shortly after purchasing it I was tricked by sellmytimesharenow and gave them $500.00 to "sell" my TS. Well I can at least say that I have had 3 people inquire about the advertisment.

So a few months ago I contacted these people at Omega about selling it as well. After talking with them I told them that my TS was not a traditional TS. Mine is a membership at their club and I have access to 180 weeks there. Well, Omega actually said that they could not do anything for me because I did not have a deed to the property. So I just got a call from one of their reps about 30 mins ago stating that they have had 4 inquires on my property in the last week and are now interested in helping me sell mine. They had to leave a message so I returned their call only to get the answering machine. So I immediately googled their name and the first thing that popped up is this thread.... So I would just like to say thanks for letting this companies best interests be known. I will definately have some questions to ask them when they call me back!!!!

We contracted with Omega Marketing Solutions in December or 2007. Their promise to us that they would in fact sell our timeshare, and if not they would reimburse our money after the marketing time. We did not recieve one offer or our money back. I am sending all this information to the Internal Revenue Service and any government agency that can help us get our money back. I feel more confident after reading that their were others that were affected in pretty much the same way from the same company. Wish us luck!

Geeezzz. the Guys name used to be David Bell, and now I am hearing of a David Rich. Does any believe in cloning??? Either there are two "David" scum bags over there at Omega, or David likes changing his last name??? Thank God I found this forum and canceled with David_____(insert last name here).

I called the credit card company and David____ didn't get one red cent! I sincerely hope someone finds the means to shut down these bottom feeders, for once and for all!

Sorry for the delay, I have been out of town for a few days. I have begun on the letter, and will finish it by tomorrow evening. I will then send it to the recommended places, and 20/20 and Nightline, as well as anything else I can think of. I will let everyone know when it is sent, and what I hear from it. In the mean time, we still will make more plans, contact anyone we can and stay in communication. Have a great evening. Jill

Good Jill, way to go, keep it up and most of us are behind you and will support and sign anything you want to send out. I received a response from Omega through my complaint to BBB and of course it contained a bunch of lies. We need to keep going until they are exposed!! I will not give up until I get my money back and Justice is done.

I cannot believe all that I am reading! Just before I saw this site I e-mailed Omega Marketing asking them if it's true they will be closing. I was contacted by another company today and when I told them Omega was selling my Bluegreen points, they said the state of Florida was shutting them down and they could recoup the money I had sent Omega. I did not believe the I Care Marketing. My story is similar to many of yours. Over a year ago my husband went on the internet to see how to sell our Bluegreen. The only company they recommend is Pinnacle....I think Bluegreen owns them! They resell for pennies on the dollar. Anyway, Brendan O'Neal called us, as did a few other companies. My husband said with a good Irish name like O'Neal, he would be the one we'd select. However, we could not get back to him because the phone # he left was incorrect. So, we went with a company that asked for $999 for a title search. We said we'd send it in three installments. A couple of weeks after we sent it, the company disappeared. I even called the police in Davies, Florida. They said we were one of the lucky ones that only lost a couple hundred dollars. A month after that my husband passed away. Low and behold who calls after that....Brendan ONeal! I told him the story and how my husband wanted to go with him because he would be an honest good Irish lad. He said he felt bad and would only charge us $698 or something like that. I did keep in contact with them. However, awhile ago I called and asked for Brendan and was informed he no longer works for Omega. Is he in jail or worse? Anyway, I need help. Jill, I thank you for taking the bull by the horns. I believe the whole timeshare industry needs to be investigated. I'm just sick about this. I'm in a real financial mess. I cannot keep paying these maintenance fees to Bluegreen and I can no longer use the points. I hope we can somehow get our money back, and figure out how to get rid of these timeshares. Sincerely, Unhappy

Hi Sharona. Are you saying that someone told you Omega marketing was being shut down? I received a response letter to my claim from Omega marketing through the BBB last week. They did not say anything about Omega being shut down and me getting my money back. Could you tell me who exactly gave you this info. I'm going to check on this myself. I will contact the BBB of Florida to confirm, because I have a claim filed with them with the BBB and my bank, it seems as though I would have been notified of this info. So would Jill and everyone else on this blog who has filed a claim against them. I will believe it when I get my money back and contacted by someone legitimate.
