Mar 18, 2015

I'm not a member of TUG BBS - Can someone copy my last post about this weeks deadline and post there? Let's spread the word! Thank you!

Just catching up on dream travel. Bought reservation in April 2014 for march 28th- April 4th. Booked multiple times through tonya with no problem Till now! Like others no response or reservation scrambling to create new vacation plans. What chance does anyone have for reimbursement? 1300.00 lost?

hey team "no to Dream Travel" you have won a small victory - they have set a hearing to consider the reinstatement - for those that can attend - do so - for those who cannot call the clerk and ask if you can attend telephonically. May 19, 2015

Good luck and God speed!

Great news! Thanks for helping make this happen. Do you know where I can find the phone number for the clerk?

AnthonyA wrote: "Suitelife Vacation Club in Canada (201-690 Rowntree Dairy Road, Woodbridge Ontario, Canada L4L 5T7) will likely follow suit in this . Anthony might be moving on to greener pastures..."

So Mr. Anthony, before my family pays the $399US Assessment Fee that you have demanded from all of your members, should we take this comment to mean that you too will be cutting and running with all of our hard earned money??

This all sounds so shady. First, you've paid hundreds of thousands of dollars of other peoples money to Tonya Williams. Second, you've indicated elsewhere that you failed to obtain insurance coverage due to it being too costly. Third, You've asked presumably thousands of Suitelife members for $399US to cover the $1.2 million you never budgeted for. Fourth, you've demanded this money before seeing what you can recover. Fifth, you've provided our money to a third party broker of properties, rather than dealing directly with all these resorts, as Suitelife purports in its sales pitches. Sixth, you've indicated on a public forum that you may well move on anyway. Seventh, WHY SHOULD ANY SUITELIFE MEMBER TRUST YOU NOT TO CUT AND RUN WITH OUR MONEY???

SHADY, SHADY, SO SHADY. SORRY, we've given you thousands of dollars already to join, plus over $100 per year in concierge fees. When we've tried to book through Suitelife, there has never been availability for us when and where we've searched. And when my wife tried to use your concierge service, the person on the telephone was abruptly rude and my wife refused to call again. When I followed up to inquire why your staff were rude to my wife, her excuse was "I'm Italian."

100% Right On. Don't be fooled by Suitelife claiming they don't know who "AnthonyA" is or that he doesn't speak for them. Read all his posts and you'll know who he is... Why did he suddenly stop posting when questioned about that statement? Because he gave away his plans and realized we are onto him. This is fraud and extortion, plain and simple. They're thinking " Let's hit these suckers up for another $400 before we shut the doors. " Law enforcement needs to be brought in if that happens.

As a long time employee of Suitelife Vacations and other vacation managers, I would like to deal with the negative comment towards the company. I would like to start off by saying that I started in this industry at the age of 17, I am now 36 years old, and have been happily sending members on their vacations of choice on a daily basis since the inception of the club. With that said, I would like to personally invite Mr. Steven1251 to contact myself directly in regards to his dissatisfaction with the club. I would be happy to go through his account to see when and how he attempted to use our services. Making assumptions and accusations is not going to change the fact that he has a contract where rules are to be followed. I urge him to read through his contract. Just like he expects us to provide him with inventory as I have been making reservations for the past 15 years, we expect him to abide by the rules of the contract.

We have worked with Ms. Williams for many years, she has provided our club with thousands and thousands of travel weeks ranging from Florida to Aruba without any problems. If Steven1251 would take the time to read this whole thread he would see that she has provided many other people with the same type of accommodations.

So again, I invite him to contact me directly so that I can educate him on how our club obtains inventory so that he does not pay rack rates when he travels. Notably, he seems to be the only "member" on this string who has made comments about our club being "shady". If he has a problem with our company, he can speak to us directly, and not hide behind a forum as I have been answering member questions since the year 2000.

In regards to the "Italian" comment, I am not sure what service has anything to do with being Italian. Perhaps there is more to that conversation that was left out.

Lastly, Suitelife Is not going anywhere, the comment referring to Greener Pastures is actually a great comment and in its context of the prior comments, I would like to thank whoever posted that,

In fact greener pastures definition is, “A BETTER LIFE; A MORE PROMISING SITUATION” And that is exactly how Suitelife is continuing with business. Our members who actually travel and understand this industry are the families who stand by us. I will not sugar coat anything as we have had a handful of members who have discussed the situation with us in person had all their questions answered, and they were satisfied.

My name is Marilyn, and I firmly believe and stand by our company. In fact, I just got back from St. Lucia. If you would like to get more details on the resort I stayed at, I will gladly provide it to you so that you can call the resort directly and verify my time there. We also have a telephone number and we are here to answer your questions from 9-5 Monday through Friday as we do with all other members.

Have a Great day.

Don't try to hid behind Mr, AnthonyA, Marilyn. Don't try to cover up what EVERY member now knows, NOT just steve1251. He is NOT the only one to post about Suitelife being "shady", if you read there are 2 others that posted after him. And not only here. There are negative comments everywhere, INCLUDING directly to Suitelife, who took almost A MONTH to respond to our demands on justifying PRE-maturely asking its members to pay for YOUR mistakes, in dealing with people like Tonya. Your mistakes, meaning NOT having INSURANCE to cover things like this. Don't try to sugar coat Suitelife, because everyone already knows how they are. You tell us why you don't have insurance. Cause it's too costly??? And NOW look where you are. Explain the reason better, I'd like to hear it.

And don't try to cover up Anthony's comment about greener pastures....everyone knows very well what he meant, and now he won't even defend himself on his OWN comment??? Please Marilyn, get wise, Suitelife will try to get money from us, then soon will shut it's doors, and you will be out of a job. Do you really think we will throw him our money with the CHANCE of him "going bankrupt" or just closing his doors???

Oh, and as far as your comment of steve1251 contacting you directly to voice his concerns, well many people did and ALOT did NOT get a response. So now we are. Because Anthony made a mistake on a public forum.

And last but not least, regarding your comment about reading our contract where "rules are to be followed" (your words), how about you read ARTICLE 16:

Article Sixteen - Statements and Payment. Club will mail or e-mail to Member a written invoice for Usage and Club Concierge Fees and/or any other charges at least thirty (30) days prior to the date when such fees shall become due and payable.

30 DAYS Marilyn....we only received 28 days, if i were to believe it was a mass email all at once, sent out on Mar 2, saying due March 30....count them, ONLY 28 DAYS. In your own words, rules are to be followed. So in essence, WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THIS SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FEE OF $399 because in OUR CONTRACT YOU HAVE TO GIVE US 30 DAYS....so don't bother with the fee, because WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY IT. And right now, there is nothing you can do.

That's right Members!! They did NOT give us 30 days as per our contract, so we do NOT have to pay....

Carolep is right. Hold them to the letter of the law. They would use every letter of the law to screw you out of every dollar they could. You may also be right about them going under. This could be a domino affect of Tonya's scam. If they didn't have insurance then they could be trying to squeeze every dollar out of you before they collapse.

Suitelife expects its 3000 (interesting number; not 2976 or 3012, but 3000). Well, if it were exactly 3000 as stated by Suitelife then the assessment should be $395.68. And what is the Dream Travel Bankruptcy - amount of $582,030 ? If there are weeks that "went bad" and Suitelife had to spend $200k to "fix" them and budgets to need to fix more in the future, namely to the tune of $225k, what does the $582,030 represent? What else did Ms Williams do for Suitelife if not arranging and selling weeks? Perhaps she also provided banking services and absconded with nearly $600k. For heaven's sake, Dream Travel isn't even bankrupt at this state; how can there be losses? If Suitelife spent $200k to "fix" weeks in the past, why was the assessment announced on March 2 ? Was it only on March 1 or 2 that Suitelife spent the $200k or was it that Suitelife first wanted to ensure seamless collection of the "regular" annual assessment fee prior to beginning on 2015? As to Marilyn's pathetic defense for Dream Travel Condos, she obviously did not read this very thread that lists complaints, complaints and more complaints going back to 2007. Suitelife only NOW finds out that the outfit was unreliable and run by the seats of the pants of one woman? So much for due diligence..... And she booked 1000s and 1000s of weeks for Suiteife? Not bloody likely. Why are we expected to replenish the reserve fund? Where did the money that was in it go? It's certainly not reflected in the losses stated in this poor excuse of accounting provided. This entire situation reeks of mismanagement and ineptness. No big deal if there's no price to pay for the principals and existing management. Perhaps if we saw some resignations and some firings and some accountability of this disaster we could, as members, elect new management and perhaps make something of this sorry excuse of a vacation club. Just try to find out how many different companies work out of that palace in Woodbridge; it'll make you head spin. Clubs have come and gone like cars in a paternoster; it takes a while that they are going around and around; only the ownership remains the same. Yes, Mr. A.; that might just be you. As to Italian reference; perhaps it had to do with the daughter's wedding. Someone has to pick up the tab..... Finally, if only 20% of 3000(!) members refuse to pay the $399 the remaining 2400(!) will be assessed ANOTHER US$ 96 to make up the shortfall and this will be repeated until Suitelife itself goes bankrupt; a not so unlikely scenario. So before you send off that cheque, make sure you keep a few spare one for later

This is starting to look like a bigger scam then originally thought. If you feel like there may be collusion between the two companies file a complaint with the FTC at 1-877-382-4357. Let these companies answer to the authorities.

Their "accounting numbers" just don't add up. Let's see some proper financial statements prepared by a licensed accountant. Anyone can jot down a list of numbers that add up to the assessment amount, let's see independent third party information from a professional. Strange how the legal fees were $9000 in an earlier post, now $30,000. For what, to file a single claim form? Ok, Suitelife, you say you want to be completely open and transparent, how about holding a meeting of all members where you can present the evidence? You expect to collect a million dollars from members after a few emails and some information on a web page, that is impossible to verify? Seriously? And we are just supposed to "trust" someone in the timeshare business?

One more thing. Where is the talkative AnthonyA now? He seemed to have a lot to say on here, until his little "oops" about Suitelife "following suit" and " moving on to greener pastures". (I love how they try and explain the greener pastures comment - everyone knows it means leaving for a better job) He hides behind Marilyn, and Rosy and Andrew. He suddenly has nothing more to say.

Maybe he's already in Mexico with the "Special Assessment" money he has already received...

Suitelife members, I'm with you all! I've been with them for about 10 years and don't have much of good experience with them either. It's typical of them to scare people with reminding us of the contract and due dates and late interests fees. Dear Marilyn, are you going to respond to me that we need to make an appointment and go over my phone calls to Suitelife and emails too? And I'm glad you had a good vacation but I'm not going to pay you guys for another one! People here, and on media, social media and BBB know that this vacation club just like many others is a joke and nothing more than a scam even if we signed! I've been trying to get rid of my membership but people say they don't want to get into this scam!!! There's no future for Suitelife for long.
