Resort management has changed from Southwind to the Colonnade
Ok, I received a mailing saying that there is an ANNUAL MEETING OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the GRAND REGENCY RESORT AT THOUSAND HILLS OWNER'S ASSOCIATION, INC. on March 3, 2020. It also states on THE GREAT ROCK GAZETTE paper that they are finally open.
So, how many of you guys filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and how in the world can we get out of this mess without paying a huge fee?
I had corresponded with Good Management in months past about a deed back and was told I would be put on a list. Then I was called by someone trying to get me to list it for sale. Fast talking and wanting money. Really?
I had changed my mailing address with Good Management via these emails, yet the correspondence I am referring to went to my old address. Not sure how long the people living there now had it. All of this still seems way too shady for me and I am tired of paying MF, etc.
Talked to a local attorney today. He said everyone needs to call the Missouri Attorney General's office or file a 'consumer complaint' online. He said if enough people did it, we could get out.
Is ANYONE attending this meeting? I'm not sure I want this Peter Chang, Secretary of the Association voting for me.

As an owner since 2002, and having been thru numerous owner/management changes, I will tell you that you are all fools if you pay them any more money. I'm not trying to be rude, but no matter what they tell you or threaten you with, all they're going to do is lie to you and take your money. You will never get anything out of them. It has been this way since the original owner scammed us out of all that was promised. It will not live long in Interval as the place is still in shambles. I can't believe they allowed it back on there. No matter how many "owners meetings" they have, it will NEVER change. The property needs to be bulldozed and forgotten. We have learned our lessons with time shares - NEVER buy one.

We filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the MO Attorney general, and got letters, there is nothing they can do to enforce or resolve the issues with the property. No help at all, Just to get out of the process, whatever that may be when they get back up and running, we filed the deed back with the Morrissey Law firm in Branson also, Pay the $1000 to her and $27 filing and be done. The maintenance fees, who knows what amount they may come up with. This process stops everything, we owned odd years only, haven't had any mail whatsoever in 6 months.

When the past??? owner Indget" we paid 2250 + 27. to Buy back to resort. injet cashed the 2250 check and didn't deposit the 27.oo with the Taney county treasurer or Auditor. Never heard a thing back but - - but now I have received a letter with Maintenance fees which I will not pay. Thanks for the info about Morrisey as I think I will go that way. Sadly and angerly We got "Raped" by this ??questionable business?? It has cost us a lot of money, could have stayed in a nice motel in Branson for far less money than we have spent on this "Money Pit" Thanks for keeping us updated!! Robert Hinckley, Pierre, SD.

We went with Morrissey Law Firm. All done and filed! We had put our name on the deed back list, but never heard anything. I am glad to be done with it! If we would ever receive any correspondence from the management company, we were to just forward to the law firm. Best decision! It was too stressful thinking about it!

Linda, Thank you so much for "steering" us to the Morrissey Law firm. Getting results, just mailed my documents they requested. Again Thank you for messaging us about this possibility. Grand Regency/Great Rock whatever - - we want out of this situation a soon as possible. Robert H

Is anyone planning to attend the meeting? If so, what is your planned approach to everything? I cannot attend. I would be glad to be an owner if things worked correctly again and they didn't make us pay for their past mistakes.
I am an odd year owner. After receiving a bill for 2019 dues I sent an email saying I do not plan to pay for 2019 and questioned why there was an extra charge on top of the maintenance fees.
This was their response:
You are still required to pay the 2019 fee, but because we weren’t open you couldn’t book. That is why you are being allowed to book in 2020.
Fees are due regardless of whether the resort is open.
Your resort has 2 accounts that your annual association fees are allotted to.
First line is the day to day operations: utilities, housekeeping etc…
Second line is large ticket items: roof or parking lot repair, replacing damaged appliances or furnishings – you need to have these funds immediately and cannot wait to have a vote and special assessment.
Please understand if you do not pay your 2019 fees, they will be hit with the late fee if not paid on time and could be sent to collections. This is not a threat, just letting you know the policy.
Paying your 2019 fees are not an option. We cannot undo what the previous ownership did to you the resort and other owners.

The response from Good Management regarding paying the fees for the period the condo's were not available makes no sense to me either and I think I know a threat when I read one. I intend to pay nothing for 2019 considering the above and my inability to use the Interval exchange for 2019 and several previous years. The best case outcome for me would be for the property to be foreclosed, assets liquidated and the (any) management company is completely disengaged!. The worst case would be a continuation of the crooked management company's revolving doors, large annual maintenance &arbitrary special assessments fees and a sub-standard living accommodations that no rational individuals would want to exchange for. Interested in getting input from other owners?

Everyone please file a complaint with the Missouri States Attorney. You can do it online and it only takes a few minutes. I have filed a complaint and am working with them. They have to see that everyone wants out! If they have a lot of complaints we have more power! If there are only a few complaints it looks as though only a couple owners wants out. They need to see how many are really upset about this! The Attorney General's Office needs to be hit with a massive amount of complaints about what is going on! If you don't Grand Regency is going to win again! We have to help each other! Let me know how many of you filed a complaint with the Missouri States Attorney. If you filed one in the past, file a new complaint! We need to be heard!

I hired the Morrissey Law firm and we filed a "Quit Claim Deed" Now, Grand Regency or Goodmanagement or whatever they call themselves sent me a bill for nearly $1000 for back maintenance fees and penalties for not paying. Morrissey Law firm are looking into this for me. This Grand Regency whatever is a real problem and we had sent in a Personal check with Option 2 for "Deedback" in 2016, the check was cashed but no deed back. This is a real problem and I am very surprised that the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce of Branson have not taken any action against this property. Clearly a "nightmare" and am tired of having persistent attempts by the ??management?? in expecting me to continue paying maintencance fees even though we have not used that property since 2010. We arrived yesterday to spend a week at Great Rock—formerly Grand Regency—and everything looks fantastic! We’re using our two bedroom unit, and everything looks so clean and new: new coffee pot, blender, toaster, couch, chair, etc.! I think we may be the first people to use this unit. There are a few other guests staying here but, overall, it’s very peaceful and quiet. New locks on the doors! Flatscreen tv’s! We still have a week with our one bedroom unit, plus a free week with a three bedroom lockout, so we’re hoping to come back with friends for Christmas shows in November. As I said in previous posts,I think, under Good Management, this will be one of the best spots in Branson! You’all should come check it out! But wait until we leave, I don’t want our peace and quiet disrupted!

We used the Morrisey Law Firm to deed back our timeshare. Cost $1000 plus filing fees as others have stated above. We received the notification of the owners meeting and also thought the list had not been updated. However, we are now MONTHS out from deeding the property back and now we have received billing. It includes current billing, past billing and threats of lawsuit. Still lists us as an owner!! I will send it back, without money, but WITH a copy of the deed filed at the courthouse. I hope what that lawyers office did was binding!!
