Planet Hollywood towers in Las Vegas

Sep 28, 2009

Already so many hotels and condo's in Vegas, they are starting to slash prices to attract visitors. I just got emails from Excalibur, Hooters, and MGM Grand on the South end of Strip for $19-30 a night with bonuses of free meals and shows. Suites at the Hotel (Mandalay) and the Signature for $79-99 per with bonuses for free meals and shows. Trump suites are going for a song. You could literally rent a house and a car for a full month very near the strip for what they are asking for week 52 at PH, and still have money left to gamble with. As a Vegas regular, I say this is a total sham and anyone who forks out that amount of dough needs their head examined.

I've also read that there is also a delay in the opening in PH.

You mean the ever changing completion date. I am hearing it will be early 2010 now. I wouldn't hold my breath. When I was there in August they had a clock up over top of a TV showing the construction site. The clock was counting down to September 19. Then I saw that it had changed to late October and then early November and now if you check their website it says December. I was reading some info on Las Vegas and saw that they were now hoping for early 2010. Did anybody out there buy back when this project started and if so what has your experience been with using other Westgate resorts since this one is not completed? Are they charging you to use other resorts? I am curious to know.
