Manhattan Club Lawsuit
Call the MC financial office and tell them you want to deed your week back. I didn’t wait for them to contact me.
deborahs528 wrote:I quit paying the fees last year. I ignored all communications from them. Then they sent an email offering the buyout... I signed the papers after having my lawyer look over things and notarizing. Receiving the papers from them took a couple of weeks and a few days on my end. I asked for copy of final papers but made copies of what I had and they said I could expect to wait months to get the $100. I am so relieved to be free of this albatross.janeh314 wrote:When the Manhattan Club offers to buy back for $100, do they e mail you with the offer or mail it to your address? How does the process work? How long does it take to settle? Thank you, Kim

You can have mine for a dollar.

I am happy with his progress and want you all to know that unless you contribute you may not get anything if we prevail. I have had no credit agencies or harrasement from MC and possibly may get a nice court settlement instead I have little interest in reading the same lame stories from people who refuse to stand up to crooks. WOULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHY YOU WANT OUT AFTER PAYING SO MUCH AND PERHAPS LOOSING EVERTHING FOR $100.?????? i HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY THINKING OF OFFERING OWNERS $101 AND BUYING A FEW OF YOU OUT. SEEMS TO ME BUYING YOUR OWNERSHIP WOULD BE A BETER INVESTMENT THAN ANY LOTTERY,, ANYONE OUT THERE WANT TO JOIN IN MY POKER GAME????

This is sad, really sad. If you've sold back your timeshare for $100 and are gloating, good for you. You're out, so feel free to enjoy your new freedom and don't look back. We stopped paying years ago and nothing ever happened to our credit rating. We signed up for the Zimmerman lawsuit and feel very confident we've made the right decision. Right makes might. If you're thinking of selling back your expensive timeshare unit, good luck with that. I don't think Bluegreen would be interested in buying back right now due to their lawsuit. I'm not trying to insult anyone because everyone has a choice and each person has to live with their choices, good or bad. If you feel you've been defrauded, and there's evidence of that, then you may want to join the Zimmerman lawsuit. If you want to fight then fight, but if you just want out, get out. Be free!

can you tell me what you said in the letters to the credit bureaus and the NYAG.

Sounds like you got the deed buy back. If so read the documents, sign, have notarized, make a copy and return. You will be out of the Manhattan Club and they eventually send you $100. That’s it.

I did not travel to Manhattan last year due to the pandemic and so did not see my physician daughters working at a medical center in the capital region in up state New York. All of the sudden, I received a stack of documents from Manhattan Club a few days ago asking me to sign the various documents. I live in Asia currently and do not quite understand the documents which are titled Real Estate Transfer Report, RP-5217NYC, Combined Real Estate Transfer Tax Return, Credit line Mortgage Certificate and certificate of exemption from the payment of estimated personal income tax for the conveyance of real property located in NYC, Agreement of general release.....etc. In short, they are asking me to give up the deed. I have no mortgage. In the early year of 2020, I asked Lynne to put me on the deed back list but have not heard from her since then.
Would anyone out there advise me what to do with these documents, ignore them and continue not to pay the outrageous maintenance fees ?? I felt scammed and conned a few years ago but did not quite know what to do when I had not known this Red Week site yet. I traveled to US once or twice a year to see my daughters before the pandemic. We last stayed at the Manhattan Club in 2019.
I know a lot of owners have stopped paying the ridiculous escalating maintenance fees for years and me too.
I need advice and suggestion, please. Thank you.

Maybe you also will want to call the Financial office and tell her you want to deed back your property so you can dispose of it. It takes a while but eventually they’ll send you a package to sign it over to them. Took us about six months.

I would not trust Nicole. She’s trying to recover annual fees and sends threatening letters. Call Daniele Webb and see what she says in financial.

I have been trying to YEARS to get out of this with no help at all. My husband has been out of work since 2014 due to an injury and due to the threats regarding my credit, year after year I have been borrowing money from family and running up credit card debt to pay maintenance and taxes. I was told for years the the NYAG would not allow buy back in NY. Last I spoke to someone about 2 months ago they told me that they started the buy back program but there was a 3 year back log and I was going to be sent to foreclosure. I was told to call Lynn O'Donnell by Felicia when she called me about my account being in arrears for this year but Lynn's phone just rings and rings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I feel very bad for you and I'm sorry you are being put through this. I would recommend stop paying the fees, they can threaten foreclosure but I don't believe they would do that since they were found guilty of fraud. So they don't have a leg to stand on. If they did foreclose and there were credit issues, explain the situation to the credit bureaus and tell them to go the NYAG site which spells out the situation.. You have that out. This is what others have done. Different owners had different types of contracts, so be sure to understand the terms of your contract. Best of luck.

Call Danielle in Financial and ask to turn in your deed. Also ask her how long it will take.
