Manhattan Club Lawsuit
I signed the paperwork in May 2021 and got my $100 check in February 2022, but I am still unable to confirm that ownership has changed hands. The NY real estate system still shows me as an owner and TMCNY said they don't know when deeds will be recorded and they can't send any confirmation of the sale to me. Is this yet another scam? Has anyone who took the $100 buy-back confirmed that you are in fact not an owner anymore?

Ignore their threats. Also call finance office and say you want to give it back to them. But regardless of what they say don’t let their threats scare you — they are just trying to intimidate you into paying.
No one outside MC ownership is going to buy it from you and people are having a hard time renting them out for enough money to cover their maintenance fees.

My brother received his $100, not sure about change of title. I will check w him. When I asked about selling back they told me it was a special program (lie) and I did not meet the standard to be included. How did those of you who wanted to turn it back accomplish this and what size unit do you own? I have owned since 1997, my then husband is now deceased and I can not afford now nor do I live in driving distance any longer so do not have the means or desire to continue ownership. I have not paid my 2023 dues. Many on here said that when dues went unpaid it did not affect their credit. Any comments from others who did not pay?

When they called me about late maintenance payment. I told them I wasn’t paying because they sold it to me fraudulently. I discovered they had checked the points only box when I tried to make a reservation for my time there. That’s when I found this site and figured out the fraud. So just tell them you aren’t paying due to fraud. Took a year to get rid of it.

Listen to Betsy! TMC can threaten you all they want. The bottom line is they were found guilty of fraud so they don't have a leg to stand on. Just ignore them. If they do send your situation to a collection service explain the fraud and they drop it. Send them the link to the NYAG web site where the info/news article found them guilty. It took me awhile to be rid of 2 timeshares for the $100 but it eventually happened. Good luck to all.

Thanks for the advice
