Resales Buy Owner.com, Inc
HI, Those companies that relieve you of your timeshare will only charge you $3500.00 and then put it on eBay for $1. This is what has destroyed the resale market for timeshares. So the company that relieves you of your timeshare is a very big part of the problem. This thread really explains what their procedure is. In this case the resort is allowing these "relief companies" to prey on the Owners.

We were lucky in dealing with Apex Professionals. We paid them upfront and they did transfer our three timeshares out of our names, but I had to get some help from an attorney to get the tranaction completed. It took about 6 months to get it all transferred, but we no longer have the worry of selling them or the maintenance fees since the deeds have been changed. I would like to see what we can do to get a class action suit against the Resales Buy Owner. These people are the lowest scum on the earth and have swindled a lot of timeshare owners out of considerable money. Would be interested in knowing what reply you get form the Florida Attorney General.

I posted my ad for my timeshare on craigslist and boy was that a mistake. Timeshare buy owner would not leave us alone, they called everyday until we broke just so they would stop calling. They sweet talked us and it sounded like they knew what the hell they were doing. Ken J was the person that told us that our timeshare was worth 18,900 and they had a buyer and we should have a sale in no time Then in a few days Dawn H called and told us that they can buy our getaways so we needed to give them money so they can buy them up and they will sell to renters at a crazy cost (my husband was involved in that conversation) I saw trouble. And Dawn and her scamming coworkers laughed all the way to the bank. You should see the emails I have gotten from her. We are getting in touch with the Attorney General and put a stop on the credit card. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY

I just got off the phone with Ronnie Lewis from Resales Buy Owner and listened to his smooth talking while reading this thread to myself. To be honest, I didn't listen to him as must as I read the thread. But because of the helpful postings here, I didn't fall for this scam. Thanks to all for posting your experiences here and I hope those affected can get your money back or at least get the satisfaction of shutting these sleeze bags down.

Sorry to say most of this happened because you knew what probably would happen and did it so they would stop calling is ridiculous. Most people that come on these forums complaining of scams if using their head would not get themselves into these problems.
I have used Craigslist many times for different items from timeshares to selling my daughters car when we bought her a new car for high school graduation and not had a problem because I read and learn and listen to others before jumping in!
When you use Craigslist that is free or paid out high fee for ad's on some timeshare forum there are creeps out there to scam you.
Listing with Craigslist you don't give out your information like phone or home address on the ad. You have all email go through Craigslist and they forward it to you and you decide who to deal with. If you did see this wasn't a buyer but some company you just don't contact them in any form.
I always list at the bottom of any ad that I don't want my time wasted so don't waste yours trying if your a sales/listing company or out of the country.
This statement stops most scam emails. Even though I never used it people have recommended a throw away cell phone and number for these uses or second email address. This would work until you are sure this person is someone you will work with.Blaming Craigslist or any company because you didn't use your head is ridiculous.
One of the lessions to be learned off these Timeshare Forum sites would be to use common sense,do your home work and be careful. This should be used in everyday life decisions also!

I and about 25 others have filed a complaint with the flordia attorneys general's office, you all have to file with them. It's great that we can vent on here but they get away with what they are doing because they think we feel hopeless. File the complaint and then go to the consumer affairs office in your state and file a complaint with them.

Well I learned my lesson, and now got wiser to the whole scam. I have filed a complaint withe the flordia attorney generals office and with the consumer affairs. I also have found 45 others that I have close contact with and they all are filing also. I have learned that seniors (they love) one got scammed out of 20,000. I will not rest until this company goes down.

If any of you have not filed with the FL Attorney General, by all means do so now, if you have a complaint about Resales By Owner. I have just finished my affidavit and it will go in the mail tomorrow. If you need the address, it's: Office of the Attorney General, Economic Crime Division, Amy E. Sams, Financial Investigator, 1300 Riverplace Boulevard, Suite 405, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Telephone: 904-348-2720. In the letter addressed to me from the Attorney Generals Office it stated, "In order to prove damages to the court, we are required to submit consumer affidavits. The total compensation or recovery is dependent on receiving affidavits from as many affected consumers as possible. Therefore, our ability to seek restitution on your behalf is subject to our receipt of your executed affidavit." Don't delay!

I totally agree with you I an others have all sent in our complaint we cannot sit back and do nothing, you can also download and print out the complaint form on line in which I did and others. Did you file with your states consumer affairs they will also do something. I also filed with the federal trade commission, and the FBI. I will not rest until something is done. Go to www.ripoffreport.com and read all the complaints in there.

Did you file a complaint with the Florida AG yet, thats the first thing you need to do. Contat your local consumer affairs office, I did and NJ took my case. As for a class action lawyer I have been looking and contacted two that have never called me back.

I also have been waiting a year. I thought there was a class action suit. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Florida. I understood there was a settlement on March 10th and thought I filed my claim but the attorney generals website doesn't show it.
Everone file a complaint with the Attorney general and if thereisn't one, then let's start a class action suit against them.

If you are calling from outside of Florida, call: Citizen Services @ 850-414-3990.
A suit has been filed by the AG For info
