Timeshare Companies

Omega Marketing Solutions any one had dealings with them?

Feb 14, 2008

Unfortunately there is no avenue available to contact these folks one-on-one. Besides, this posting is available for all to read now. I've already taken the steps I felt it necessary for me to take. It's up to the rest of you now. If you want any chance of turning this thing around it's up to each of you to do something. If not the route I took then something else. Maybe contact an attorney on your own or whatever, but just sitting around doing nothing is what places like Omega count on. Good Luck

Has anyone out there tried to do anything yet?

As you can see by John's post, Omega Marketing rented his timeshare weeks but did not sell them. He paid them $700+ (or twice that amount since he owned 2 weeks) for them to list his timeshares for rent.

Again, never ever pay any company an upfront fee to sell or rent your timeshare. 99 out of 100 are outright scams.

Anyone can list their timeshare for sale or rent on Redweek and many other internet listing sites and have a much better chance of renting or selling than any upfront fee company.

The most popular internet sites such as Redweek, Ebay, Bidshares and others get a lot of exposure, and the good thing about internet listing sites is that you can edit your ad as many times as you wish to bring down the price or add details. I sold 9 timeshares via these internet sites, but I was realistic in my pricing. It's very easy to construct an ad, especially on Redweek.

what was your secret for getting them to do anything, or call you back? They have not called me ONCE since I paid them the up front fee of 500.00!!!I wish I could alert EVERYONE to read all the negative feedback in regard to this CO. 500.00 and up for services that they apparently never intend to give!!! The REPRESENTATIVE who was supposedly handling my sale called me every day up untill I paid the fee, and then it was as though someone OR some CO.turned the lights off and closed up the shop!!!!! A 500.00 lesson has been well learned!!!!! aliceb47
To All Timeshare Owners- I hope you read this There will always be an up front fee when you sell a timeshare. You did not make a real estate purchase! You paid UP FRONT for all of the vacations you're planning to take in the Future. The tricky part is finding the right company to work for you. Fortunately there are sources online you can use to do simple research to make sure you are picking the right company. Had any of you taken two minutes to check out Omega Marketing at www.bbb.org you wouldn't have given them any money to start with. They are not a member with the BBB and have only been in business since May 2006. Also you can compare traffic rankings and exposure to sites using www.alexa.com or www.rankings.com. This way you can see if the company even gets any exposure to their website. When you pay up front to sell a timeshare you are not paying a commission up front you are paying for advertising! Also, check out the website and compare it to others, is it easy to use and find what you're looking for? This is important stuff. Most people are just mad because they didn't do any research first. And for the record E-BAY charges UP FRONT and all they do is list it, for a limited time. They don't screen calls, handle closing or provide financing for buyers. And they don't offer ANY guarantees at all. Of course if you price it well it may sell because e-bay obviously spends money on advertising on the internet, but many LEGITIMATE resale companies would also sell ALOT more of their timeshares if owners were more willing to price reasonably to start with. So please don't BAD MOUTH all resale companies just DO YOUR RESEARCH that's your responsibility as the consumer. Thank you, I hope this helps at least one person.

Do what? A person can sell a timeshare directly to anyone with no upfront fees involved whatsoever.

You must be talking about fees by upfront fee resale scam companies that charge in the hundreds of dollars to add your timeshare to their data base that no one will ever see.

Then there are timeshare ad sites such as Redweek, MyResortNetwork and other ad sites that charge a very nominal fee. There's a world of difference in these sites (apples to oranges) and upfront fee resale scam companies.

BTW, Bidshares is absolutely free.

I found their link in the States Attorney Generals website. Don't hesitate, the longer you wait the more people they will be able to rip off.
let me know what is the website and I would file they are a rip off

You will have to go online, use your search engine and find the location for the FTC closest to your home.

I hate to admit that after paying them I never heard from them and the number I have for them has been disconnected. Does anyone have a working number? Count me in on a suit.

Th eno. on their web site works, but there's only an answering machine. We'd like ot be counted in on the suit as well. Spoke to someone recently who said they were close to selling our property at LeBlanc. Since then, there has been no response, no calls-nothing. We'd like to know about howto get our money back. We are ready to report them to BBB and more. Has a class action suit been started?

Don't do it. They are one big rip off. I have recently lost $899 to them under the same demise as many here. My fault,I was in a bind and did not check them out like I should have. They even tried to double charge me, but when I threatened them with American Express cancelling the whole transaction, they changed part of the problem. they do nothing except add your name to a pile of non saleable timeshares on a web site. I am ready for the class action suit. That hurt me bad, but I survived. Others may not be so lucky. I am almost ready to retire. What a mess. Call me: . 661.276.2475 if anything comes of this or send me mail to DLW . 16450 Hwy. 58, Frontage Rd. 32 No. Edwards. CA 93523. They even promised me air fair for two with hotel paid if they could not sell it for me in 90 days. Then had the nerve to make fun of me for believeing it when I contacted them. I'm in California. That is their area of target now. They should be stopped.

Insulting our intelligence, tiffanyd37 falsely claims: >> I have never been happier !!!Omega marketing sold my timeshare in a week!!@! I made $20,000 off my westgate property!!!Giving them $899 was the best investment I ever made!!! << ===============================================

Utter nonsense --- and an insult to the intellect.

First of all, there isn't a Westgate week anywhere on planet Earth that would sell for more than about 1/4 of $20k in the resale market, even to a complete fool. Further, I sincerely doubt that any Westgate week was EVER sold at $20k even at the original, inflated developer pricing. Please.....

Secondly, in 25 years of timeshare ownership I have NEVER ONCE, repeat NOT ONCE, EVER seen or heard of a confirmed sale of a timeshare by ANY one of these assorted, obscure upfront fee "marketing" parasites. That same observation is also repeatedly echoed by hundreds of experienced owners on Timeshare Users Group (TUG). To say that I seriously doubt that this shill posting is any exception is, at the least, a mild understatement...

This post is certianly a prankster or Omega schill. Please provide a scan of the sales agrement or a file number from the county recording office. It is so absurd I'm tempted to point out that they are rather poor liars.

I agree, and am in awe of the sheer gall to claim, in this little fairy tale, making $20k profit on a timeshare week likely worth about $1,500, tops. All of this magic was also miraculously accomplished in just ONE WEEK, when most timeshare closings generally take a minimum of 6-8 weeks (or longer). WOW!! Where can I send MY $900 NOW?? Are operators "standing by" for this special offer??

I won't be holding my breath while waiting for your challenge to be met with any supporting facts....

WOW I happened to type in Omega Marketing into my search engine and I was pleasantly surprised to find out what scam artists they are. They are hounding me day after day. I won't fall for it. I have read everyone of the listings and I do APPRECIATE the help. Thanks for helping me NOT make a mistake and give these scams money.

As the timeshare public becomes better informed and better educated on the subject, it is my fervent hope that these assorted "upfront fee" parasites will simply all go out of business, one by one, for lack of a sucker clientele upon which to prey.
