Actually, this year (2008) is a leap year with 29 days in February, so anyone who owns a week 52 will also own week 53 .... leap year occurs every 4 years.

I don't think it is easy as that; usually a week 53 occurs every 5-6 years or so. 7 days x 52 weeks = 364 days so there is always one extra day per year and 2 in leap years. You got me thinking though, my resort has a policy of using the week or losing it, but usually I see a bill for extra housekeeping charges by this time. I'll give them a call and report back.

2011 according to good people at resort. Just wondering, by owning week 52, I automatically get week 53 "Free" whenever it occurs (have to pay maid service, no maintenance fees). Is this standard or am I just fortunate to have such a deal.

============= Use the RESOURCES link at the top of the page to access TS Calendars. Week 53 is listed for 2010 (Friday checkins), 2011 (Saturday checkins), and 2012 (Sunday checkins). After that, the next week 53 would not be until 2016. In any case, ALWAYS confirm the weeks with your resort.

================ The policy is different for each resort. Some require you pay an additional MF for that year, so just to pay for maid service is a pretty good deal. I knew of one small resort that used week 53 to do cleaning and maintenance on all the units.

I stand corrected .... my bad. I assumed every year with a February 29 (leap year) there would be a week 53. Mike is exactly right (after checking Dick Conklin's online timeshare calendar) that 2008 does not have a week 53. As he stated week 53 will be in 2010, 2011, 2012 (depending on check-in day ... fri-fri, sat-sat, sun-sun).
