Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

I just bought into MROP is it a mistake?

I just bought into the MROP -VRI network (resale). I have a RED non-rotating membership. Anyone else have experience with MROP and VRI? I know their resorts are not 5 star but they are decent and in some really desirable areas.

Did you buy resale? If so, you saved a ton of money. Don't know anything about MROP (what is MROP?), but I formerly owned a couple of timeshares that were managed by VRI ..... we liked their resorts.

BTW, if you bought from the developer and you think you may have made a mistake, you have a certain amount of days to rescind (look in your contract). You can research how to rescind in the search feature for Redweek's forums.

I bought resale, very cheaply. MROP means Multi-Resort-Ownership-Plan and is now managed by VRI.

If you're satisfied with the deal then that's all that counts .... good that you bought resale .... enjoy.

I don't know much about MROP, other than that their associated facilities are primarily located in the western U.S. However, I do have many years of personal experience with VRI, the management entity at several different resorts at which I either own now or have owned in the past. In my personal opinion, VRI is about "as good as they get" in management companies. I've seen lots of management companies over the years, including some really bad ones; VRI has always been consistently pretty darn good, in my view. If you paid a reasonable resale price and can afford the annual fees (and inevitable increases) without hardship, I can't see how your purchase could prove to be a "mistake". Enjoy it.
