Has anyone listed and sold thru redweek.com and how long did it take? WE are going to put ours up for sale but if it sells we dont know how to handle the sale as we are in michigan and timeshare is in florida any information would be great. Has anyone used the redweek brokerage to sell with for the 49.95? Thanks! John and Ellen

RedWeek is a pretty good advertising site for sales and rentals. "How long it takes" depends entirely upon the desirability of the particular week offered (i.e., geographic location, season, size of the unit, annual maintenance fee amount and last (but certainly not least) a realistic selling price). Depending on all of the above, a deal can take place in days, weeks, months --- or never. ==========================================

Simply use a closing company to handle all details and escrow of funds. It doesn't matter where you or the buyer live --- what matters is use of a closing company that handles Florida timeshares. Generally, the buyer assumes the closing costs (but that's a negotiable detail). Closing costs will be around $300, plus any transfer fee imposed by the particular resort. Transfer fee can range from zero to several hundred dollars, but it's generally around $75 for the "average" quality timeshare facility. Whoever is paying for closing costs should be able to select any closing company of their own choice. Use of a closing company eliminates risks and uncertainties for both buyer and seller, and the closing company will handle preparation and recording of a new deed. Personally, I like Timeshare Transfer of Vero Beach, FL (and no, I have no association with them beyond having used them myself numerous times). JRA Closing Services is also highly regarded by many, although I have not personally used them. ================================================

Re: >> Has anyone used the redweek brokerage to sell with for the 49.95? <<

RedWeek is NOT a brokerage of any sort --- not in any way, shape or form. RedWeek is merely an Internet site on which prospective sellers and renters can advertise. However, RedWeek is not actually involved in any way with the subsequent negotiations or transactions which may result from ads placed on their site --- those matters are conducted strictly between you and your potential buyer.

I hope some of this helps you. Good luck.

I have a gentleman by the name of mathew hood who represents bayview financial. he would like a couple of my properties to place in his inventory to sell to tourists and corporate accts. at an upcoming convention. a 6% commission from the sale is the deal sweetner for him he says. what he says he needs from me is about $395 for an updated title search and to obtain an estoppel letter to get these properties available thru his venue. he says he will work with me to pay for the estoppel letter and that when the property closes we will recoup this initial outlay from the buyer. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS COMPANY, THIS PERSON, THIS PROCEDURE FOR RESALE?
