Anyone can tell me of "things to do" in the winter (other than skiing) in this resort? Just became an owner. Is it a "kid friendly" or "family friendly" place?

Well you may have already found things to do in the winter at Quail Hollow. It is kid and family friendly. Of course skiing is one of the main attractions, but ice skating and tubing are also available.

Here are some things at the resort: Indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, game room and racquet ball. A list of events are handed out when you check-in, including a calendar for activities at the resort which can include aerobics, painting, bingo, etc. The units have cable, internet and movie rentals at the recreation center. Close by are shopping malls, outlets and bowling in both Hazleton and Wilkes-barre. Nescopeck state park may have some activities for the winter - it is just a few miles away.

There are casinos in WB and the Poconos. Wilkes-barre has the Mohegian Sun Arena and events are held there during the week, including ice hockey.

A little further (30 miles) is the National Park Steamtown and the Trolley museum in Scranton. Look ahead and there are antique shops, concerts, musicals and plays in the cities mentioned above and in the Poconos. The Poconos also have Waterparks at Lake Harmony. Of course restaurants and wine tasting are in many locations in PA, brochures will be available when you check in.

For day trips you can also go to Gettysburg, Lancaster Amish Country, Philadelphia and New York; of course the weather may be a concern in the winter when traveling.
