Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

So, I think I sold my timeshare......

Feb 14, 2011

So,

I found a buyer, agreed on a price, used TimeshareTransfers.com to handle the money/paper work, and contacted my resort and recieved a digital and paper copy that my deed was transfered.

My question is:

Is there anything else I can/need to do to ensure transaction is complete and that there is no way this thing is going to spring up ten years down the road to haunt me?

I want to be absolutely sure I am DONE with this headache.

I don't mean to offend anyone here but I found this timeshare industry to be more trouble than it was worth. It was supposed to be about relaxing vacations but turned out to be a constant source of tension for my wife and me.

Thank you for any information

When you say "received a digital and paper copy", I ASSUME that you mean that you have received a copy of the new, recorded deed --- which bears a date, book and page number(s) and instrument number from the county in which the new deed was officially recorded. That info will be on the top of each page of the deed.

If the details above are indicated upon what you have received, then it's now "game over" and "goodbye" and you are now a FORMER owner. If you DON'T see a book and page and instrument number on the deed documents however, then you have no proof at all of the successful recording of a new deed in a new name.

Hope this helps.

The thing about transferring a timeshare is most owners only have the opportunity to do it once or twice in their life, so it is hard to know what to expect or audit whether it was done correctly. I agree with blackdog3 that it isn't enough for the transfer entity to tell you that the transfer has been completed, everything must be verified. You worked with TimeshareTransfers.com as you said so you are in good hands. It is still a good policy to VERIFY everything with not just the timeshare transfer company, but also with the county and ultimately the resort. You should receive the final paperwork with the original recorded deed. This is your recorded proof of the timeshare deed transfer. Best of luck!

timesharetransfer.com (with no 's' after transfer) will notify you when the transaction is complete inlcuding transfer documents ..... they do all the work and they ARE legitimate.
