We are thinking about renting a timeshare being advertised by vacationsonly.com on Redweek. They told me that they are not the owner of the timeshare but an advertiser that helps owners lease out units. I asked them if they need some sort of license for what they do but they told me they are only an advertiser and do not need a license.

They also require the full amount upfront because the week is less than 60 days from now. I am not sure about it and just want to see if people have experience with them good or bad.

thanks

If the name of the outfit is actually Vacation HOMES Only, you can find a number of threads and posts on that outfit by conducting a RedWeek search on the name Preston Green (who is a principal in that particular outfit).

I have personally never heard of Vacations Only, but I do see (from a quick Google search) that there is a vacationsonly.com web site, complete with phone numbers to contact them.

If the rental involved is now less than 60 days away, it would not be unreasonable for ANY legitimate renter to request payment in full at this late date (...AFTER providing you with a clear and specific written rental contract, of course). By making that particular observation, I certainly am NOT endorsing "vacations only" in ANY way since, as stated already, I've never encountered them before.

I am trying to find anyone who has used Vacations Only to rent a time share from Red Week. I have never used a third party before, and would like to know if they are reputable. Thanks so much.

'Vacations Only' looks like a 'rent by owner' website .... just be sure there's rental agreement in place by the owner stipulating the terms of the rental and signed by both you and the owner .... search forums for sample rental agreements.

I used Vacations Only to book a vacation for my family. They were great and it was all very legit. I am a multiple week Timeshare owner, but we wanted to go to Hawaii and the exchanges are tough, so we just paid. Fair price and I saved their info in case I wanted to do it again. It all went well before and during, etc. We had written confirmation after I paid, all went smoothly.
