Diamond Points

I already have 12,000 Diamond Points - deeded time share. Exchange through Interval International. Am interested in acquiring more points. If I purchase a resale - do I have the same benefits and exchange opportunities as the points I purchased from the developer? Do I need 2 memberships in Interval/Diamond - or can I combine with my existing points.

If you buy resale points for DRI you have LIMITATIONS. You CANNOT use them for Interval International. Also, you can only use the resale points for resorts in the collection that they are from. So for example, if you buy resale points in the US Collection, you cannot use them for Hawaii properties and those properties are in the Hawaii Collection.

If you were to buy resale points and want to turn them into DRI developer points with no restriction, DRI will make you buy some points from them first.

Andrew - This statement is from the Diamond "Simplicity_A-Guide-to-Global-Membership" pdf and it states:

17.1 Selling Points

A member can Sell points to another existing member of "The Club" by private arrangement. Once an agreement has been made between the selling member and purchasing member, the selling member must contact the Member services deptartment to advise of this proposed transaction, at which time the current proceedure will be explaned. As soon as all the formalities have been completed (eg., verifing memberships, settlement of outstanding maintenance/management fees and receiving the completed and signed documentation in full and along with payment of respective transfer administration fee), the transfer will be processed.

Note: Resale points or points that are sold privately or through a reseller may have restricted use, (ie., they cannot be exchanged for use in "The Club" and/or redeeming for member benefits.

I am a member of Diamond since 2004' and have a DRI US Collection TS.
