Marriott Vacation Club - need tips on renting it out

I have Marriott Vacation Club points that I'd like to rent.

Several questions...

1) I understand that one way to do this is to post my rental with "various dates" in a handful of resorts. I see that I have to pay $25/posting. Is there another suggestion on how to do this? How do I choose the resorts on which to post my listing?

2) Is it better to book the week with Marriott (roll the dice, pick a week, pick a resort) and post it as a "verified" listing?

Other ideas/suggestions on how to rent Marriott points?

There is actually two sites that are specifically for renting out Mariott Vacation club points. Depending on your cost per point this might not be the most profitable way but it usually is the easiest. You are actually renting the points and not the reservation and the person renting also has Marriott vacation club points account and the points transfer account to account. On Redweek, I would reserve something popular and then advertise that week. If you advertising floating, etc, by the time most potential renters contact you the popular dates will not have any availability.

I have a week reserved at Marriott's Newport Coast Villas, staring August 29, 2016. That takes the last day into Labor Day holiday. I want ot hold my price at the common $2,500 for the week. We live an hour away, and could use the unit if it does not rent.

Would a slight lowering of price be advisable?

You could advertise it as an " asking price " leaving the final price up for negotiations.
