Not many weeks to rent and the price is way to high.

There are lots of weeks available for rent. It's a matter of which weeks are in high demand.

Here's one suggestion. If you're able to travel within 45 days before your intended check-in, try Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com). There is a Last Minute Rental section where you can advertise for free that you want to rent a week. An owner with a points program might be able to book something for you and charge you no more that $800 for the week.

Some owners who have used RedWeek in the past to advertise their rentals, some for many years, report no longer wanting to use RedWeek at all, due to significant fees now being imposed upon both timeshare owners and timeshare renters by RedWeek. This fact may well have something to do with what you now perceive as fewer rental listings (and higher rental prices) on RedWeek.

The suggestion (preceding post) to check TUG (Timeshare Users Group) as another source for timeshare rentals is a good one.
