Villas in both towers are furnished and decorated exactly the same. Lahaina tower: the southernmost Marriott resort building, has an actual lobby. Oceanfront view is of Lahaina town, the islands Lanai and Kaho'olawe. Napili tower: the northernmost resort building -- closest to Whaler's Village, one of largest open, green lawns along the main Kaanapali Beach, has its own bar. Oceanfront view includes islands Lanai and Molokai. Both towers face a wide, sandy beach and a relatively shallow, warm ocean channel that serves as a nursery for baby whales (calves) and a playground for pods of spinner and bottlenose dolphins. Both towers have quieter, meandering pools with hot tubs, waterfalls and towel hut. All guests have access to the centrally-located 3.5 acre Super Pool with grottos, waterfalls, slides, sand-bottom Pirate ship cove, bar, Iive music, pool food & beverage service, Starbucks, carry-out food, & full-service restaurant. We visited in late March, 2024 and the Safeway, Times Supermarket and ABC store in Lahaina as well as numerous restaurants (Dukes, Mala Ocean Tavern, Kihie Caffe, Sergios Cantina, Leilani's on the Beach, & Hula Grill), and the Old Lahaina Luau, Myths of Maui as well as others were open. Leoda's Kitchen and Pie shop was open and is a MUST stop on your way in as you drive thru the huge canopy/tunnel of trees. Load up on their delicious assortment of pies (Key Lime and their chocolate pie are our favorites). Please be respectful of the people who lived through that devastating fire and may have lost friends and family! Whaler's village is open and has many shops and restaurants. Most of the stores and restaurants that are open were not touched by the fire. The beach, golf course and boardwalk at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort area where we stayed was beautiful. Check the room categories in the middle column of https://advantagevacation.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Marriott-Maui-Ocean-Club-View-Categories.jpg . The oceanfront units are the units closest to the ocean. Some are directly out front, so there is only the beach walk and beach between the unit and the ocean. Some are to the side, as part of a two-bedroom unit: the studio portion there may not have an ocean view at all, if it is in the Lanai Tower, facing south, though the north-facing studios there are great. You need to go to Hilton Waikoloa and then there is a lagoon...not a proper beach...best beaches are within driving distance (pauloa6)

The Garden buildings are the ones behind the Westin but that doesn’t affect the room views which overlook the beautiful grounds and a large pool with waterslide. The beach is a short lovely walk away but a continuous shuttle is running back and forth to the beach from I think 9:00am to 6:00 pm. I like the Garden units because they are always the least crowded and I’ve never had a problem getting seats by the pool, no matter how late I sleep in lol (bonniel216)

Depends... Do you plan to go out to local restaurants to eat? Or content staying on property. My family prefers staying onsite, WORTH it for our teenagers to eat whatever, whenever and how much they want... Lots of options, something for everyone... We took the shuttle to PB Rose and PB Blanco to experience the amenities, Swimming beach and restaurants there... We definately enjoyed the excurstion but the following year we were totally happy staying at PB Sunset Beach. (owen01)

The city of Myrtle Beach rents beach chairs with umbrella. Rental is done via the lifeguards. They set up around 9:00 am, and take down chairs/umbrellas at 4:00 pm. Although it is separate from the resort, you may charge the fee to your room. (markb854)

Bay Club sits within the much larger Sandestin Resort. Technically, there is not a private beach for the Bay Club but the resort runs shuttles/trams all over the area which will take you to the private beach for all Sandestin Resort guests (kurtd58)

There are 3 buildings on the property. One is at the edge of the property as close as you can get to the beach, the oceanfront building. This building has oceanfront and oceanside units. Oceanside look North towards the channel and you can look to the side of your balcony to see the ocean. Oceanfront units have a balcony facing East onto the ocean. The first floor of oceanfront is actually considered Oceanside. The next closest building is the signature building and is the only building on the property with units up to 10 guests. The poolside building is the furthest, maybe 150 meters from the oceanfront building. It has units facing North, East and South. There is a shuttle with stops at the front desk, pool, oceanfront building and the whole property is walkable with paths from the front desk to the pool to the beach. (dougd179)

there is a boardwalk path to the beach it is a lovely walk but quite a distance if you are disabled or out of shape. That being said there is also a shuttle that will run you down to the beach that runs on a regular schedule (karaw68)

Is there an indoor pool anywhere in Palmetto Dunes? Looking to buy into Harbourside III quarter share. Harbourside III has their own pool & hot tub, & I know the shuttle bus & beach access is included.....but what about the cooler times of year? There are 4 types views at this resort. Oceanfront means floor 2 or higher on the end of the Lighthouse Building with the balcony and picture windows directly overlooking the ocean and the beach. There are very few Oceanfront units. Oceanview means further back from the beach on the side of one of the buildings with an angled lesser and less likely at least partially obstructed view of the ocean in the distance. Oceanside means a view of the pool or less. Garden View means no view of the ocean or pool. (georgep395)
