We visited in late March, 2024 and the Safeway, Times Supermarket and ABC store in Lahaina as well as numerous restaurants (Dukes, Mala Ocean Tavern, Kihie Caffe, Sergios Cantina, Leilani's on the Beach, & Hula Grill), and the Old Lahaina Luau, Myths of Maui as well as others were open. Leoda's Kitchen and Pie shop was open and is a MUST stop on your way in as you drive thru the huge canopy/tunnel of trees. Load up on their delicious assortment of pies (Key Lime and their chocolate pie are our favorites). Please be respectful of the people who lived through that devastating fire and may have lost friends and family! Whaler's village is open and has many shops and restaurants. Most of the stores and restaurants that are open were not touched by the fire. The beach, golf course and boardwalk at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort area where we stayed was beautiful. The one bedroom though is very large and has 2 queen pull out sofas and has a second bathroom. We were able to fold out one of the couches and leave out for our son. Of course there was a lack of privacy for him but it was very roomy. We plan to stay again. (heleng134)

At GTL, I stayed in Building 7, and there are three options from Bldg 7. First, walk 1 min to the shuttle and wait up to 15 min to take a 2 minute ride to the very busy Beaver Run Superchair. Second, walk 3 minutes towards the ski rental shop on the resort where there is a little bunny slope to ski/board down for 15 sec, then walk 5 min to the very busy Beaver Run Superchair. Third option, walk 5 min through the resort pass Building 2 to the Snowflake Trail, then ski/board down <1min to the very unbusy Snowflake Chair. To ski/board back...any of the above in reverse, for the most part. (leos73)
