Yes you have full access to everywhere on grounds. So even if you stay in one village you can go all over with no problem. There is a free shuttle bus on grounds that runs every few minutes so if you don't have a car it is easy to get around. (sonjav21)

Marriott's Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge is about 221 miles from the Grand Canyon National Park. Driving there from the resort would take about 3.5 hours. If you're looking to stay a bit closer, resorts in Flagstaff are only about 1.5 hours from the park. (kyliec)

It is too far to walk, but Eaton Bikes will rent you a bike or adult trike for the week, including a basket, lock, & helmet. Drop-off and pickup to/from the resort are included in the fee. There are bicycle racks outside in front of the lobby. Highly recommended by owner there - we use them each year on our annual stay at the Beach House. Taxis are also plentiful & reasonable. I have stayed there in February, most pools are heated and fully operational during that time. They specify on the signage if the pool is not heated. I think there is only one outdoor pool that is not heated. The indoor pool is also heated.It is nice in February because you will mostly have the pools to yourself! (andrewp410)
