Been to Newport yearly since the late ‘90s. I love Wyndham Long Wharf ; convenient location, competent friendly staff, grills outside provided to cook your own, pools and jacuzzi before settling in for the night.
Walking distance to tons of shopping, great restaurants , across from the marina where yachts and crew come to shop and eat. Short drive to Fort Adams state park site of yearly Folk & Jazz festivals, sit on lawn blankets, or under shade to hear the best music ever and shop the beautiful and unusual clothing and crafts while there! From there take a short ferry ride back to Long Wharf , around the cove or straight towards Jamestown island or get back in your car and drive around Newport for the beach sites or for a rest back at Long Wharf. Check the Preservation Society calendar for an upcoming unusual event held in one of the Mansions or the Japanese dignitaries here to honor Admiral Perry and Newport connection. Lots of unique opportunities…..just explore
Just returned from a long weekend here with friends. I’ve owned here since the late 1990s and have always enjoyed the Resort, the cleanliness, and the awesome location, but I think I took a lot for granted until our friends raved about how much better Long Wharf is compared to their timeshare nearby. It’s great having a 2 bedroom condo for the price of a basic hotel room. It’s nice also having the Indoor and outdoor pool area, gym, movie theater, hot tub, fire pit, and bbq grills. Sunday afternoon we watched a guitarist playing poolside. Although we didn’t use all the amenities, it’s nice seeing others enjoying them and it wasn’t too crowded. I always thought of this as a great base to see and do things in Newport, but I think next year I’ll be factoring in some staying on property time to enjoy everything on offer.
P.S.: The resort staff, from front desk to housekeeping to receptionist answering questions before we arrived have always been pleasant and helpful.
We love Newport and we love this resort. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The pool area is beautiful. We always make some time to enjoy the pools and hot tubs. The BBQ grills are a nice feature along with the outdoor picnic seating to accommodate larger groups. The location is perfect. Dining and shopping are all within walking distance. Our family of 5 has enjoyed staying here for many years.
Great staff, great unit, and superb location. If you like walking and enjoy the outdoors- this is an awesome place to visit. Cruises with review of history. Coastal walk is a must do, breathtaking! Wharfs and many restaurants are walking distance. Mansions and groceries are minutes away. The indoor/outdoor heated pool and hot tubs are super at the end of a long day of exploring!
Club Wyndham Long Wharf has everything you'd want on vacation. It is centrally located near everything historic Newport has to offer. The scenery is second to none and the accommodations are world renowned backed by the famous Wyndham level of excellence
I have personally stayed at the Long Wharf Resort at least 15 times - it's my go to when I stay in Newport. The location can't be beat, there is so much to do and see in Newport and you will easily get around the entire downtown area by foot. The beach is probably 2 miles away and easy to find parking in the large parking lots. Dinner reservation are recommended.
