Just stayed here for the third time consecutively (July 29-August 6,2022). The staff informed us that there is no smoking on the propertyincluding in rooms or on balconies. You can step out to the beach or nextdoor to the parking lot areas for the Sea Pines Beach Club but I wasunable to find a "designated area" on the resort property.

The resort website states "Although smoking is not permitted within hotelbuildings themselves, guests who smoke are permitted to do so outside indesignated areas."
