Is the beach directly in front swimmable? I read that there is a good amount of coral, the beach is relatively steep in this area, and it’s not as swimmable as those beaches near the Marriott ocean club to the south.

Yes be careful of coral but there is a sandbar then rocks. If you are comfortable treading water, no problem!
