Smaller than most resorts on the island, with only 31 units you have a more intimate, quiet atmosphere.

Great views of the Gulf and a 300 ft beach, perfect for relaxing while watching the world go by. Pool and hot tub spa are wonderful.

Free bikes (in good condition) unlike most resorts where you have to rent bikes off premise.

Liked it so much we bought a time share week.

Stayed here during week 7 in 2008 and occasionally in several other years. Nice, clean, resort. Small and quiet. Homey atmosphere because it is small. You can use the computers in the lobby, beach chairs and umbrellas are provided and there is a small playground for little ones. BIG pool with nice shallow end, hot tub, tennis court, etc. Great central location, close to Periwinkle Place shopping and great restaurants. Units are small but fine for couples or even with a kid or two. BEST of all it is right ON the beach; a gorgeous stretch of that beautiful white sand right on the Gulf of Mexico!! Many units face or can see the ocean from their lanai.

I have been vacationing at Surfrider for 15+ years and it has been an excellent experience. It has a very friendly staff as well as the usual tennis, shuffleboard, bikes, etc.

This is a Vanella resort. Nothing fancy, but clean friendly, large pool and the best part..it"s on Sanibel. If you don't mind staying in a converted motel, it's more than fine. If you want resort type ammenities...keep looking.
