What is RedWeek Payments?

RedWeek Payments is a new service built to make rental transactions safer and easier for both parties. We provide the rental contract, collect and disburse the payment, and assist in any disputes.

How does it work?

Renters can still contact owners directly through posting pages to ask questions or negotiate the price. If a lower price is agreed upon, the owner can edit the posting to reflect the new asking price. When a renter is ready to book, they will submit a booking request with payment and we will notify the owner by e-mail. The owner will have 48 hours to accept the offer, then another 48 hours to make the name change on the reservation. Both parties should be checking their e-mail and RedWeek Message Box frequently during this process.

Can all owners use RedWeek Payments?

Yes, all owners can use RedWeek Payments. Owners can choose the full-service rental service, or add RedWeek Payments to a DIY posting - as long as it's a fixed reservation more than 15 days out. Owners can add RedWeek Payments when creating a rental posting, or by editing an existing posting from their Account.

How much does it cost?

For owners, RedWeek Payments + Verification is currently a $14.99 addition to your rental posting price. The renter will cover a small service charge when making the booking.

Can I view a copy of the rental contract?

Yes! Here is a sample rental agreement with all current terms.

When will the owner be paid?

Rental funds and/or cancellation penalties will be disbursed to the owner within two business days after the check-in date, barring any disputes.

What is the cancellation policy?

The owner is able to choose the cancellation policy for their rentals. RedWeek Payments currently supports these three cancellation options:

  • Flexible: 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.
  • Moderate: 50% refund if canceled at least 60 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.
  • Strict: No refunds given on cancellations

An owner may not cancel after an offer is accepted.

Can I do last-minute rentals with RedWeek Payments?

Due to the processing time involved, RedWeek Payments will be turned off 10 days before check-in. A rental posting may remain active, but renters will need to contact the owner directly to arrange last-minute rental terms and payment.

How do owners opt-out?

If you have received an invitation to use RedWeek Payments on your DIY rentals for free, you will automatically be included in the program. You can turn this off from the My Postings page within your Account for individual postings. If you are using our full-service rental option, RedWeek Payments is the only payment method available and opting-out is not an option.
