What does travel insurance cover?

How much does insurance cost?

Travel insurance is a fixed 7.95% of the trip cost insured. On RedWeek, the trip cost includes both the rental price plus the service fee.

Why would I need travel insurance if my booking has RedWeek Booking Protection?

RedWeek Booking Protection ensures you get what was advertised - we verify, handle disputes, and you may be eligible to get some of your funds back if the unit you were given wasn't what you paid for. Travel insurance is completely different — they won't reimburse you for this type of discrepancy, but it is your best chance at coverage if something prevents you from taking your trip. If you are unable to travel due to sickness or a death in the family, involuntary job loss, school year extensions, you may be able to file a claim.

What if I decide later I don't need insurance on my rental?

You have ten days to cancel the policy after purchase, giving you time to review the details. Just contact RedWeek customer service within the ten days.

Can I purchase travel insurance after I've booked my rental?

Unfortunately, insurance can only be purchased at the time of your booking - it can't be added on later.

Am I eligible for travel insurance?

Travel insurance is available on all bookings with RedWeek Booking Protection as long as the check-in date is within 18 months, and guest resides in the United States.

Can I buy travel insurance for rentals without RedWeek Booking Protection?

No, we are only able to offer this plan on rentals booked online with RedWeek Booking Protection.

How do I file a claim?
