I personally like Palm Beach, because all the hotels are there and you can walk to each casino, the stores, etc. Most of the hotels there are very nice. For me, the Marriott is too far at the end, but people who go there really like it. Oranjestad is the capital, and there is tons of shopping & all the cruise ships stop there. You can take the bus there from the hotels. If you stay at a hotel there, chances are they are not on the beach. One hotel has a boat that takes you to a private beach (the hotel itself is very nice). I'm the type who wants to walk right out on the beach, so Palm Beach is the best. Also, one great thing - there are no people walking along trying to sell you stuff and annoying you while you're relaxing on the beach. There is only one person who has a permit to do so, and that's the Aloe Guy. And he's great, you actually look forward to seeing him, he's so funny & nice. Last year I stayed at the Occidental, this year I'm staying at Divi Aruba. The Occidental is a bit nicer but the Divi is perfectly fine, and we wanted a kitchen (Occidental has kitchens, just not at the time we were going). Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. It's a great little Island & I can't wait to go back. I'll be there in 22 DAYS!!!!!
