He probably bought the million points before Wyndham enacted it's no transfer policy as some people were actually running businesses renting out Wyndham points .... I remember reading on TUG about a lady that had at least a million points and her business of renting the points was completely shut down when Wyndham enacted it's no transfer policy ... needless to say she was in dire straits with no income.
