samantha, if you read my post earlier, you will see that timeshare realty specialists do not have a Realtor licence to buy or sell Real Estate. That is why they have an "F" rating on the BBB website. Any illegal commerce is automatically rated with an "F". To commercially purchase or sell a timeshare without a licence is illegal. If anything this would lead me to question OBB's criteria for giving someone a good standing. The only way that not being a member of the BBB would affect your rating is if someone has filed a complaint against you and you do not respond to the complaint by going through arbitration and mediation with the BBB. Being a member provides you with automatic arbitration, not being a member you would have to pay for or engage in arbitration yourself. Since there are no complaints filed with the BBB against this company (as of my last checking a couple weeks ago) this would not affect their grade. Their grade is poor because they are a very new and not yet reputable company, and because they are operating outside of Real Estate Laws in California.
