Good points above, BUT, I'm willing to bet there will be no harassing phone calls or damage to your credit score. That takes effort and my feeling is they'll just look at the situation as "well, we've squeezed all the juice out of that fruit" and just move on and close the books on their dealings with you. To pursue anything beyond that just doesn't appeal to them. Plenty more fish in the sea. Why bother?

I have a small issue with the clear conscience, stiffing someone line. Do you think they have pangs of conscience when they're getting you loosened up with alcohol, applying high pressure tactics, getting you to pay for a few weeks at a crazy high price, not really caring if you can afford it or not, maintenance fees that will ALWAYS increase, never decrease? I don't think so. Sleep well. Your conscience is clear!

I agree wholeheartedly. After all, the only thing that gets "sold" in Mexican RTU contracts is the prospect (one which is not always easily utilized) of future access. There is no tangible "product" and no ownership of anything whatsoever --- just the aggressively marketed "privilege" of possible, occasional future access to a property. It's actually just a paper "membership" of sorts, acquired at considerable initial cost and ongoing, ever-increasing expense thereafter.

No RTU contract signatory is taking food out of anyone's mouth when they later realize that this aggressively marketed "privilege" of access wasn't worth the initial buy in cost or the ever-increasing annual fees, deciding to just stop paying. The slick-talking sales in Mexico will still go on and the pockets there will continue to get well stuffed by others, with or without those (quickly forgotten) RTU contract holders who wisely decide "No Mas" and just turn around and walk away from the whole thing --- and good on them all for taking the initiative to do so!
