Rising maintenance fees are one of the many pitfalls of timeshare ownership. This was one of the main reasons we sold all of our timeshares (rising maintenace fees and special assessments).
You would think in this tough economy that resorts would be holding maintenance fees steady or reducing them. They're biting off their noses to spite their faces.
Exhorbitant rising maintenance fees are being discussed on other timeshare forums as well.
