I called Marriott customer service again and asked the same question and received the same answer. Those who bought before the conversion date can become members althought they will pay a much larger membership fee but subsequent secondary market sales will not be given the opportunity. It seems the priority reservation system whether you join the new program or not puts secondary market purchasers behind everyone. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has encountered this information. Thank you.
