I haven't heard of anyone taking a credit hit for stopping the payment of the outrageous annual maintenance fees. TMC did try to ding our credit initially when I stopped paying the mortgage loan. I was successful in getting the negative report removed by showing TransUnion that they were posting negative comments submitted by a company that is under CRIMINAL FRAUD investigation by the NY Attorney General.
