The Penthouse basically gets you the best view and a cathedral type ceiling as it is only on the top floors of a section of the building. That is not saying it is on the highest floor. It means no one is above you and the roof is raised for a more airy room. The Penthouses are Hard to get as there are only about 9 Ocean views and 1 Mountain view penthouses in the original buildings.. I don't know how many they added with the new building which is a little further away from the main courtyard area. We own a week in a penthouse so normally that is where we do stay and have never had a bad one.
