Has anyone used this company and have been successful in getting rid of their timeshare. Timeshare Exit Team is home based in Lynnwood, Washington.

There are a few threads about this company on Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com).

It appears that it's not a very reputable group.

If you want to get rid of your timeshare, some better options would be to write to the resort's Homeowners' Association and ask if it will take your unit back. It might require you to pay closing costs (about $250) plus maybe even the next maintenance fee.

You can also list your unit for sale/giveaway here on RedWeek. Other sites you could use to advertise your unit are My Resort Network, E-Bay, Craigslist (just watch out for the numerous spammers and scams), Bid Shares, and the aforementioned TUG. It has a Bargain Deals section where you can list your unit for free. Again, you might have to offer to pay closing costs and the next maintenance fee but at least you will be certain that your unit will be legally transferred to a new owner.

Never, ever pay anyone a large, upfront fee to "cancel" your timeshare.
