Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Considering buying A Hollywood Beach Towers

Oct 23, 2015

I go to Hollywood area probably 2x a year. I got to thinking about buying a timeshare resale instead of renting a hotel room, and I'm trying to figure out this timeshare business.

I saw a few things available here on Redweek and SellMyTimeshareNow. One even had 2 extra weeks.. sounds fishy..

Would this be something worthwhile for my 2x a year trips?

I would first of all check to see how easy, and hence, economical it is to rent from an owner. You just might be able to find rentals for less than what the owners pay in maintenance fees.

I would not look at Sell My Timeshare Now for two reasons. First, the ads there are very old. They likely have been sitting there for years and, hence, contain outdated information. Secondly, units listed there are unrealistically way overpriced. However, if you do see something there that is still valid and you are seriously interested in, you should negotiate with the owner to a lower price.
